Raipur, 20 February 2021. School Education Minister Dr. Premasai Singh Tekam honored 9 students and their teachers of the selected state in Phase-II of the National Competition of Artificial Intelligence in a program organized at village Suhagpur in Pithora block of Mahasamund district today. In the program, laptops and certificates were distributed to all the students selected at the national level. Out of the total 14 selected students from the aspirational districts of the country, 7 students belong to Kuldeep Nigam Higher Secondary School, Narra, government of Bagbahra, the development block of the aspirational district Mahasamund in the state. Students selected for Phase-2 will work with Intel to solve problems related to agriculture, rural economy, rural health with the help of Artificial Intelligence. In the Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Youth program organized in collaboration with the central government’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and renowned software company Intel, the students studying in class 6th to 12th in the government schools of the country get to know about the latest artificial technology and by the society The program was run to find solutions to problems using AI.
It is noteworthy that 52 thousand 628 students were registered in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Youth program from the state in June 2020 and 11 thousand 466 students took training in the first phase. In July 2020, 2 thousand 536 teachers were trained from 35 states of the country. In August 2020, 2 thousand 704 ideas were submitted from 2 thousand 441 students. On January 12, 2021, the list of the top 100 students of the country selected in Phase-2 was released. In this, 9 students were selected from Chhattisgarh state, in which 7 students are from Narra district of Mahasamund. Among the 9 students selected for Phase-2, Vaibhav Dewangan, Dheeraj Yadav, Ghanshyam Nishad, Yamuna Yadav, Himanshi Dewangan, among the students of School Kuldeep Nigam Higher Secondary School Narra, Block-Bagbahara in Mahasamund district.
For the second phase, all these students will be trained by Intel engineers and their workshop will be held. In which the ideas of the selected students will be molded into working prototypes and of these, the top 30 will be selected in Phase-3.
