The seeds of Rabi crops are being continuously stored in cooperative societies by the Agriculture Department and Chhattisgarh State Seeds and Agriculture Development Corporation. Till now 1.25 lakh quintal seeds of various Rabi crops are available in cooperatives, agriculture department, seed production program and private sector. Which are also being distributed to the farmers. So far 62 thousand quintal seeds have been lifted by the farmers.
Chhattisgarh State Seeds and Development Corporation is ensuring the availability of certified seeds of Rabi crops as per the demand of the farmers in the state. This year there is a demand of two lakh 92 thousand quintals of Rabi seeds in Rabi season. According to the information received from Agriculture Department, in Rabi season 2021-22, one lakh 55 thousand quintal wheat, 96 thousand 900 quintal gram, 15 thousand quintal peas, 4 thousand quintal mustard and 59 thousand 100 quintal seeds of other rabi crops thus totaling 2 lakh The target is to distribute 92 thousand quintal certified seeds. So far 1.25 lakh quintal seeds have been stored and 62 thousand quintal seeds have been distributed, which is 50 percent of the storage.
