Raipur, 16 December 2020. School Education Minister Dr. Premasai Singh Tekam today inspected the Gothans located in the Gram Panchayat Bela of the development block Korba and Gokul Nagar in the Municipal Corporation area. He observed various livelihood enhancement works being done in Gothanas. Dr. Tekam also appreciated the work done at Bela Gowthan and the various activities being done by women groups. During the Bela Gowthan inspection, Minister in-charge of Korba district said that rural economic activities are being encouraged by the state government under ambitious Narva, Garwa, Ghurwa and Bari schemes. She said that the women of the village have an important role to promote economic activities in the village. Dr. Tekam also spoke to the women and committee manager of the Self Help Group at Bela Gowthan. He praised the women of the group after listening to the mushroom production and profits made by the women of the group. Dr.
During this, Mayor Shri Rajkishore Prasad, Katghora MLA Mr. Purushottam Kanwar, Pali-Tanakhar MLA Mr. Mohit Kerketta, Councilor Mr. Surendra Jaiswal and other public representatives, Distinguished Citizen and District Administration Collector Mrs. Kiran Kaushal, SDM Korba Sunil Nayak and Animal Husbandry, Horticulture , Officer-employees of Agriculture Department were present.
During the inspection at Gokul Nagar Gowthan, the minister in-charge discussed the dung collectors and asked about the Godhan Nyaya Yojana. The cow dung collectors bought two kilograms of cow dung of the government, calling this scheme important for the development of villages and the poor. During this period, Minister Dr. Tekam also observed the construction of large wooden logs of dung from a machine installed in Gothan. The women of Gothan reported that these logs are made and sold to be used as fuel. He also reviewed the arrangements available for the treatment of cattle at the Veterinary Hospital near Gothan campus. The present veterinarian was instructed to conduct regular health tests and treatment of animals coming to Gowthan. Dr. Tekam also discussed the women producing vermi compost in Gothan. The members of the Gothan committee presented cow dung souvenirs to the minister Dr. Tekam.
