Raipur, 03 February 2021.  While reviewing the departmental works in the Ministry (Mahanadi Bhavan) today, the Minister of Tribal and Scheduled Castes Development Dr. Premasai Singh Tekam said that the Scheduled Tribes and other traditional forest dwellers should get their rights under the Forest Rights Act. With the approval of new cases for recognition of forest rights, the revoked claims should be reconsidered. He instructed the Assistant Commissioners of the districts present in the meeting to personally inform the concerned claims about the canceled claims and also explain the reason for their eligibility. The work of reviewing the rejected claims in the districts should be completed by the month of February.
Minister Dr. Tekam said that according to the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel’s decision, forest rights letters are to be given exclusively in Abujhmad region. Officials present in the meeting said that survey work is being done in Abujhmad region. The measles-map will be sent to the government for approval. Minister Dr. Tekam said that 80 works for construction of Adarsh ​​Hostel-Ashram building have been approved in the state. All these works should be completed in a time-bound manner with quality. Officials told in the meeting that 10-10 Adarsh ​​Hostel-Ashram buildings are being constructed in Bastar, Kanker, Kondagaon, Narayanpur, Bijapur, Sukma, Dantewada districts and 5-5 in Gariaband and Dhamtari districts of the state.
Minister Dr. Tekam while addressing the review meeting said that the distribution of Forest Rights Recognition Letters is to be conformed to the Chief Minister. He said that the implementation of Forest Rights Act has done well in some districts. The District Assistant Commissioners should strictly follow the instructions given in the meeting. Dr. Tekam said that since the formation of the government under the leadership of Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, everyone has helped in distributing individual and community claims to forest rights papers continuously. Documentation of correct data has to be done after examining the canceled claims. He said that the operation of Eklavya School is the responsibility of all. CBSE. The parameters of the budget should be properly utilized to complete the institution with all kinds of resources to run the school.
Secretary of Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department Shri D.D. Singh directed the Assistant Commissioners of the districts that approval has been given for the construction of buildings of 50 new Eklavya schools in the state, for which land should be identified and allotted. Along with this, land should also be identified and allotted for the construction of Eklavya schools and old Eklavya schools to be opened this year. He said that under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Prevention of Atrocities Act, regular meetings of district and section levels should be ensured. Sensitive areas should be specifically reviewed. Secretary Shri D.D. Singh instructed the Assistant Commissioners of the district for the difficulties faced in the caste certificate to inform the department at the government level by making a list of castes district-wise for problems other than quantitative error. Completion certificates of construction works should be submitted on time so that further funds can be received.
Director, Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department Smt. Shammi Abidi said that the works pending under the Prime Minister Adarsh ​​Gram Yojana should be completed soon.
