Raipur, 19 March 2022. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had reached for the inspection of fecal sludge treatment plant of Municipality Kumhari. The capacity of this plant is 6 KLD per day (6000 KL per day), i.e. two trucks of faecal sludge can be treated per day. On this occasion, the concerned officers apprised the Chief Minister about the main components and working method of the plant. The Chief Minister thoroughly understood the entire process from the screen chamber to the polishing pond. The Chief Minister was told that this is a nature based solution, such treated water can be used in gardens and agriculture and dried sludge can also be used as manure. Collector Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure told the Chief Minister that the plant is a gravity based plant and the Chief Minister expressed happiness after hearing that the plant is operated without electricity.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel said that cleanliness is directly related to human health. Cleanliness is an indispensable requirement for healthy human life. It is not possible to ignore it under any circumstances. This state’s largest fecal sludge treatment plant has been set up for the residents of Kumhari’s area, which will undoubtedly help in waste management. Nearby farmers will also get chemical free fertilizers so that farmers will be able to produce high quality food grains and vegetables. People of the near area can also take manure from here for their house plants and this manure can also be used in gardens. Faecal sludge treatment plant is definitely a better option for proper disposal and efficient management of human waste.
