Raipur, 07 July 2021. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel today reviewed the working of Tribal Welfare Department in his residence office. The Chief Minister directed the departmental officers to conduct a special campaign for distribution of individual and community forest rights recognition cards in the districts of Bastar zone. The Chief Minister said that special camps should also be organized with the cooperation of the district administration to give forest rights recognition letters to the eligible people in Dantewada, Sukma, Bijapur and Narayanpur districts of Bastar region. He said that to give social and economic stability to the people of Vananchal, it is necessary to be given the right to use the land. The Chief Minister asked to start the distribution of forest land from the villages adjoining the district headquarters so that they could be benefited from the necessary help for farming and other schemes of the government. In the meeting, Minister for Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development and School Education, Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam, Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Anila Bhendia, Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Shri Subrata Sahu, Secretary Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Shri D.D. Singh, Commissioner Smt. Shammi Abidi and other officers were present.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that Devgudi is the center of faith of the tribals. He said that the intention of the government is to preserve the Devgudis as well as develop the Devgudi site in a better way. He said that there will be no shortage of funds for this. He organized meeting of departmental officers for the people coming to Devgudi site, Instructions were given to develop drinking water and other basic facilities. In order to preserve the land of Devguri site, instructions were given to get the plantation of fruit and flower plants done along with encircling the local resources. The Chief Minister said that while getting the development works done at the Deoguri site, it should be kept in mind that the people of the tribal community can easily organize religious and cultural programs there from time to time. The Chief Minister also reviewed the teaching-learning situation in other special educational institutions including Prayas residential schools run by tribal and scheduled caste development. The Chief Minister directed to develop a system of career guidance for such children passing out from Prayas Residential School, who are not selected for higher technical educational institutions, for further education and employment. In the meeting, Secretary, Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Shri D.D. Singh informed about the educational achievements of Mukhyamantri Bal Bhavishya Suraksha Yojna, Eklavya Adarsh Residential School, through a power point presentation. He said that in the last three years, 47 children have got admission in IITs, 109 children in NITs, 244 children in engineering and 12 children in medical colleges. At present a total of 71 Eklavya schools are operating in the state. Four more Eklavya schools are to be started. 29 Eklavya Vidyalayas are affiliated to CBSE course, Rest of the process is in progress. He also informed about the special action plan prepared to fulfill the departmental goals, including the establishment of residential training institute in Raipur for getting admission of children in technical educational institutions. In the meeting, Commissioner Smt. Shammi Abidi informed that online monitoring system related to Forest Officer Act is being developed. As a pilot project, it has been started in Korba and Dhamtari districts.
