Raipur @the-journalist.com. The rice festival will be organized on November 7 for two months rice distribution under the public distribution system. Consumers of ration cards in the state can take one or two months’ rice from the fair price shops as per their convenience. Consumers are not obliged to take two months of rice together. For organizing the rice festival in the month of November 2019, the duty of Nodal Officer will be imposed in every fair price shops. The distribution register will be verified before the monitoring committee after storage of ration material and distribution during the rice festival by the nodal officer. The Food Department has also given instructions to all the ration card holders to distribute two months of food grains together on the notice board of fair price shops. The state government has instructed the ration card holders prevailing under the public distribution system and universal PDS to distribute rice in the months of November and December together in November. The two-month rice allocation has been released by the Food Department for distribution. Instructions have been given to distribute ration items like salt, sugar, kerosene and gram in scheduled areas, except for rice, as per eligibility month-wise.
