Raipur, 1 April 2021. A meeting of the cabinet sub-committee was held here today under the chairmanship of Food Minister, Mr. Amarjeet Bhagat, in which Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, School Education Minister Dr. Premasai Singh Tekam, Higher Education Minister Mr. Umesh Patel, Chhattisgarh State Civil Supplies Corporation President Mr. Ram Gopal Agarwal, Food Department Secretary Dr. Kamalpreet Singh, MD Markfed Mr. Ankit Anand and other officials attended. The meeting reviewed the custom milling of paddy purchased at the support price in the Kharif marketing year 2020-21, rice deposited in FCI and Naan and e-auction of potential surplus paddy. The rates approved for auction of coarse and common paddy were approved by the committee.
A total of 92 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased in the state at the minimum support price in the Kharif marketing year 2020-21. The state government has decided to conduct e-auction of about 20.50 lakh metric tonnes of surplus paddy in four phases. The e-auction has started from 3 March 2021 with committees of the plains districts of the state. So far, the state government has approved the rate for auction of about 3 lakh 46 thousand metric tonnes of paddy. Paddy purchased at auction by buyers has been started.
The auction for the upcoming phase of auction of surplus paddy acquired in the Kharif marketing year 2020-21 through the online platform has started from March 30, 2021. About 10.79 lakh tonnes of surplus paddy is proposed to be auctioned in the upcoming phase auction. The auction can be bid by the registered buyer for auction of surplus paddy daily from 11 am to 3 pm daily (except Saturday and Sunday). The process of buyer registration for the e-auction of surplus paddy on the said online platform is also under continuous process.
