Grievance Redressal Cell established in Accountant General’s Office

Raipur, 27 September 2022

A review meeting was held by the Finance Secretary Smt. Alarmelmangai D. with the Director, Treasury Accounts and Pensions, all the Divisional Joint Directors and officers of the Finance Department regarding pending pension cases and negative balance of the General Provident Fund. Deputy Accountant General Mrs. G. Ellersi and other officers of the Accountant General’s office were also present in the review meeting.
Detailed information was given by the Accountant General’s office in the year 2018 regarding the pending cases of negative balance for the period before GPF was online. The drawing-disbursing officers were apprised about not paying proper attention to the disposal of the cases. In this regard, the Secretary Finance was directed to organize a workshop for all DDOs at the district level in coordination with the Office of the Accountant General and the Divisional Joint Director, Pension. Keeping in view the seriousness of the matter, instructions have been given to make available the grievance redressal system and contact telephone numbers of the Accountant General’s Office on the e-Kosh portal for all the subscribers and DDOs. In this regard, helpline 0771-2281499, 094255-27697 and Grievance Redressal Cell number-123 (Help Desk for GPF Subscribers) were made available by the officers of Accountant General’s Office.
The pension cases received in all the divisional pension offices and their resolution were reviewed by the Secretary Finance. The divisional officers were strongly reprimanded in this regard and warned that zero-tolerance policy would be adopted against unnecessary delays in pension cases of retired employees. For this, after examining the pension cases, all the objections should be registered in one go. Regarding common objections, they should be resolved in the Pension Office itself in coordination with the DDO. In relation to such online cases in which the pension case has not been sent physically, action should be taken to call for the case by writing a semi-official letter to the divisional officers of the concerned department. Along with this, instructions were given to be present at the time of the upcoming review meeting after resolving the pending cases 100%.
