Currently, the process of recruitment of teachers is under process in the state, regarding teacher recruitment, false rumors are being spread on social media that OBC candidates are not getting the full benefit of reservation. In this regard, the situation has been clarified by the Directorate of Public Instruction that at present the process of recruitment is being done on a total of 5090 posts of teacher cadre. Out of which there are total 905 posts of unreserved category.
It is noteworthy that as per rules, candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward Classes are also eligible for appointment in unreserved category if they come on top in merit. Following this rule, out of the 895 candidates to whom appointment letters have been/are being issued in unreserved category, 48 are from Scheduled Caste, 04 from Scheduled Tribe, 623 from Other Backward Class, and 220 candidates are from general category. It is clear from these facts that reservation rules have been completely followed in teacher recruitment and injustice has not been done to any category of candidate. Even after this, if any candidate claims that someone below him in merit has been appointed in the unreserved category, then he can immediately apply to the Director of Public Instruction. Such applications will be resolved by the operator within the time limit.
It is also noteworthy that the process of counseling and document verification in teacher recruitment is still going on and many candidates of reserved category have been called for the third phase of document verification on 29 and 30 September 2023.
