Raipur: Reading and writing campaign: District-wise target set for making literates literate

Raipur, 23 October 2020. In Chhattisgarh state, ‘Reading and Writing Campaign’ has been approved from this year. Under the campaign, basic literacy will be provided to the insecure people above 15 years of age. Instructors will be taught free of cost to volunteers. Two and a half lakh unskilled people are to be literate in the state in the year 2020-21. For this, a district-wise target has been set.
At the state level, there is a target of literating one lakh 87 thousand 500 non-literate women and 62 thousand 500 non-literate men. Director and Member Secretary of the State Literacy Mission Authority, Mr. D. Rahul Venkat, all the District Collectors, Chief Executive Officer, District Panchayat and District Education Officers have been guided by the read-write campaign and set a special strategy keeping in mind the time-limit, literate the insecure Have been instructed to do.
Out of the target set under the reading and writing campaign, a target of 10-10 thousand has been set for districts Sarguja, Jashpur, Bilaspur, Korba, Raigarh, Raipur, Mahasamund, Rajnandgaon, Bastar, Dantewada and Kanker. A target of 9–9 thousand has been set for district Balrampur, Surajpur, Korea, Janjgir-Champa, Kondagaon, Bijapur and Sukma. The goal is to literate 8–8 thousand literates for district Mungeli, Gariaband, Balodabazar, Dhamtari, Balod, Bemetra and 6 thousand for district Narayanpur.
