In Chhattisgarh, due to the lockdown of the reading and writing campaign, the teaching and writing campaign of the Ministry of Education, Government of India has been extended till July 31, 2021, due to the study-teaching campaign in the state. Earlier this period was scheduled till 31 March 2021.
It is noteworthy that under the reading and writing campaign, there is a target of literacy of two and a half lakh unskilled people above 15 years of age in 28 districts of the state. Under this scheme, 120 hours of education are to be done to increase literacy reading, writing and mathematical skills and to acquire literacy skills. Volunteer teachers who teach will give free education. Students of School College, NCC, NSS, Scout Guide, Retired Teacher, Mitanin, Anganwadi workers, and individuals from voluntary organizations will be supported in this work.
According to the information received from the State Literacy Mission Authority, for the coordination of this program, the State Literacy Mission Authority has carried out the survey work of the insecure and volunteer teachers in the entire state by the State Literacy Mission Authority. After the survey, it has also been uploaded in the CGSchoolDotin portal. Special techniques are adopted to teach volunteer teachers. They require special training. For this, two resource persons in each district and in each block proportionally skilled trainers have been selected and their online training has also been done.
According to the Chhattisgarhi environment, the basic literacy entrant, the Jhapari and the volunteer teacher guide have also been prepared and distributed in the districts. E-primer of all 24 lessons has also been created and uploaded to YouTube so that it can also be taught through digital medium. Similarly, after accessing each content centers, a special app for monitoring the CG read-write campaign app has been created. So that the material sent to the districts can be evaluated realistically. In all the districts, the District Literacy Mission Authority has been constituted under the chairmanship of the Collector. Similarly, various types of committees have been formed at block level, village level and urban bodies. More and more literacy reading materials have been made available in WhatsApp Group, Telegram Group, YouTube channel.
Special cell state literacy center ie State Center for Literacy in SCERT and Distic Center for Literacy ie District Literacy Center in District District Diet has been established at the state level for academic and technical support and support of the reading and writing campaign. In this centrally sponsored scheme, 60 percent is shared by the central government and 40 percent by the state government.
The District Education Officers have been made the Member Secretary of the District Literacy Mission Authority. The District Project Officer will coordinate in this. Similarly, Block Education Officers have been put in charge at the development block level. Literacy centers can be set up in any school college building, panchayat and public building. This center can also be found in anyone’s home. There is no bond for this. No time is fixed for this, that is, it can be applied 2 hours at any time according to the convenience of the learners. Reading and reading materials will be arranged by the district. All preparations have been completed.
