Godhan Nyaya Yojana: Third installment payment of Rs 6 crore 27 lakhs to dung vendors

Raipur, 07 September 2020. The Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel today paid a third installment of Rs 6 crore 27 lakh to 76 thousand 803 dung vendors of the state under the Godhan Nyaya Yojana through video conferencing. Up to 31 August, 3 lakh 13 thousand 765 quintal dung was purchased from these cattle rearing and cow dung vendors. It is noteworthy that under the Godan Nyaya Yojana started with the traditional Hareli Teer of Chhattisgarh, more than Rs 12 crore 70 lakh has been transferred to the dung vendors. Maximum benefit of the scheme is being given to the poor and needy people of the state. Under the scheme, one crore 67 lakh rupees were paid in the first installment, 4 crore 74 lakh rupees in the second installment and 6 crore 27 lakh rupees in the third installment. Maximum benefit of the scheme is being given to the poor and needy people of the state. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel also launched the ‘Godhan Nyaya Yojana App’ on this occasion.

Addressing the program, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that the dream of former Prime Minister, late Rajiv Gandhi, is being fulfilled in bringing money in the hands of cattle rearers, poor and needy in the state. He said that the Godhan Nyaya Yojana is becoming very popular among the poor, cattlemen, and the landless and poor are benefiting from the scheme. He said that by helping farmers, villagers, laborers and tribals in the state through various schemes and programs, we have been working to make Rajiv ji’s dreams come true.

The Chief Minister said that under the Godan Nyaya Yojana, the state government is procuring cow dung at the rate of two rupees per kg. The scheme was started on July 20, the day of the Hareli festival. It was decided to pay the dung being purchased under the scheme within 15-15 days. The Chief Minister said that vermicompost compost will be made from cow dung being purchased in Gothans. For this self-help groups are also being trained. The income of the villagers will increase with the Godhan Nyaya Yojana. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that the government government is giving utmost importance to the Godhan Nyaya Yojana. He also gave necessary instructions to all the collectors and CEO of Zilla Panchayats regarding the construction of fast vermicompost stitch according to the arrival of cow dung in Gauthan. At present, out of one lakh 29 thousand 411 registered in 4419 Gothans, 6 lakh 35 thousand 14 quintal dung was sold by 2 thousand 561 cattle herders. The total amount of which has been transferred to the bank accounts of the cattle ranchers Rs. 12 crore 70 lakh.

During this period, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel interacted with the Gram Panchayat Kohaka of Tilda development block in Raipur district and the members of the Gothan committee of village Sikola under Patan development block in Durg district. The members of Gowthan informed that at present there are 43 registered cattle rearers in the village, cattle rearers have sold 209 quintals of cow dung and they have received an additional income of Rs. 4 lakh 18 thousand. Members also informed that they provide fodder for 80 cattle living in Gowthan. They are also producing Napier grass on about 4 acres through the committee. Apart from this, additional income is being earned by them by producing greens and vegetables. Also doing fish farming. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel appealed to the members of the committee and women of self-help groups to serve Gow-Mata well. He said that by working hard, keep working towards earning extra income. The members of Sikola Gauthan Committee told the Chief Minister Mr. Baghel that the work of making vermi compost has started in his Gouthan, till now more income has been obtained by selling more than two thousand kilograms of compost manure. The Chief Minister also spoke to the Guthan Committee shepherd Budru Ram, that he collected about 45 to 50 kg of cow dung daily. With this he is earning about a hundred rupees. Members said that along with vegetable-vegetable production on other lands near Gowthan, hen shed has also been prepared. Poultry farming will start soon. The Chief Minister said that the Godhan Nyaya Yojana launched for the promotion and protection of cow will be successful only through the hard work of your people. The program was also addressed by Agriculture Mr. Ravindra Chaubey.

On this occasion, Women and Child Development Minister, Mrs. Anila Bhendia, Parliamentary Secretary, Mrs. Rashmi Ashish Singh, State Women Commission Chairman, Mrs. Kiranmayi Nayak, Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Subrata Sahu, Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Alok Sushkula, Secretary Dr. M. Geeta, Secretary Shri R. Prasanna, Mr. Nilesh Kshirsagar and other senior administrative officers were present.
