Health Department has issued new guidelines for the investigation of Kovid-19
Raipur. 10 September 2020. The state government has issued new guidelines for the investigation of Kovid-19. On the recommendation of the Technical Committee of the State Kovid Control and Command Center, the strategy of investigating Kovid-19 in the state has been revised. Additional Chief Secretary of Health Department, Mrs. Renu G. Pillay has issued circulars to the Commissioners and District Collectors of all the divisions and directed them to ensure investigation as per the new guidelines for identification of corona infected.
According to the revised guidelines, people who are showing signs of infection in the primary contact of the corona infected person will be investigated. In the high-risk category, the primary contacts without symptoms such as those over 65 years of age, immuno-compromised and co-morbidities sufferers, diabetes, hypertension, cancer, kidney disease, sicklecell disease The affected persons and pregnant women will also be investigated.
The Health Department has directed the investigation of patients admitted with fever, cold, cough or shortness of breath (SARI – Severe Acute Respiratory Illness), and pneumonia patients suffering from severe respiratory illness. Also, the symptoms of Kovid-19 such as loss of taste in mouth, aroma, vomiting or thin stools and muscle pain have also been asked to ensure investigation.
According to the new guidelines for identification of corona infection, people affected by high risk groups such as those above 65 years of age, immuno-compromised and co-morbidities such as diabetes, hypertension, cancer, kidney disease, sicklecell, etc. and pregnant. Instructions have been given to investigate the women. Even after showing signs of infection, if reports of such people are negative from the Rapid Antigen Kit, then everyone has been asked to ensure the investigation by RTPCR or True-NAT method.
