It rained in almost all the districts of the state including Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg on Wednesday night. Due to the rain till late night, the weather is now feeling cool on Thursday. People have also felt slight relief from the heat and heat stroke. According to the latest information received from the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain and strong thunderstorms in many districts on June 23 and 24 as well. There is a possibility of rain in many parts of the state in the coming 2 to 3 days. These include Raipur, Dhamtari, Durg, Mahasamund, Janjgir, Raigarh, Korba, Bijapur districts of Bastar division. Chances of rain have also been expressed in Balrampur Surguja. It may rain in all these districts on Thursday, Friday and Saturday as well. Light thunderstorms will also occur.
According to the warning issued by the Meteorological Department, on Thursday, along with some districts of Surajpur, Balrampur, Surguja, Kabirdham, Bemetara, Raipur, Mahasamund Raigarh, Kondagaon, clouds will be seen circling, and strong winds, storm will blow.
According to the rainfall data released by the Meteorological Department in the last 12 hours, the maximum rainfall is 87 MM in Bijapur, 75 in Balrampur, 68.2 in Raigarh, 65.3 in Dhamtari, 63 in Sukma, 38 in Durg, 38 in Dantewada, 30.2 in Mahasamund, 30.1 in Rajnandgaon. 29.4 in Jashpur 18.9 in Bilaspur 18.3 in Raipur 15.5 in Korba 15.4 in Narayan Kabirdham received 0.6 MM of rain.
Bastar coldest
Due to the rain on Wednesday, the temperature has dropped. People got relief when cool winds started blowing even in Raipur which was scorching due to scorching heat. According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature recorded was 22.6 degree Celsius in Bastar, 23.1 degree Celsius in Kawardha, 25.3 in Raipur, 26.4 in Raigarh, Rajnandgaon 25 degree Celsius.
