Raipur: Pure drinking water reaches remote area settlements

Villagers are getting water in every season

People in the villages located in remote and inaccessible places of Chhattisgarh are now getting pure drinking water. Due to the Central Government’s Jal Jeevan Mission, villagers no longer have to drink water from other sources. The villagers are happy to get pure drinking water.

    Under Jal Jeevan Mission, pure drinking water is reaching various villages of Narayanpur district and has reached remote areas. Pure drinking water is being provided to the villagers from door to door through tap water in inaccessible villages of Narayanpur district. In which most of the villages are surrounded by dense forests, mountains, rivers, drains and inaccessible roads. In such a situation, under the Jal Jeevan Mission, the work of providing drinking water in all the habitations is being done on priority by the state government. Through the Har Ghar Nal-Jal Yojana, pure drinking water is being supplied 24 hours to every rural family. Under Jal Jeevan Mission, pure drinking water is being provided to 439 houses through tap connections.

    Earlier people used to face problem in filling water from hand pump, whereas during rains they used to get muddy water from hand pump. Due to low ground water level during summer season, people faced difficulty in extracting water from hand pumps.

    Due to construction of water tank under Jal Jeevan Mission, villagers are getting pure drinking water in every season. According to the information received from the Public Health Engineering Department, a total of 3275 hand pumps were installed in Narayanpur district. Out of these, 3253 hand pumps are in working condition.
