5 lakh metric tonnes of paddy lifted for custom milling

In Chhattisgarh, 11 lakh 73 thousand 240 metric tonnes of paddy has been procured from the farmers on the support price. In lieu of paddy, an amount of about Rs 2466 crore has been paid to 3 lakh 43 thousand 162 farmers under the bank linking system. Due to the proper arrangement of paddy procurement by the state government, farmers are reaching the paddy procurement centers with enthusiasm. Now they do not have to wait long to sell paddy. Along with paddy procurement, the lifting of paddy for custom milling is going on continuously. So far 5 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been lifted from the committees. The government has estimated to procure 110 lakh metric tonnes of paddy this year.
Token Tunhar Haath app has been created by the state government for the convenience of farmers selling paddy. Through this, farmers can get online tokens, apart from this, tokens are being given in advance manually, as a result of which farmers are getting the work of buying paddy in a convenient manner.
Food Department Secretary Mr. Topeshwar Verma said that on November 22, 1 lakh 28 thousand 569 metric tonnes of paddy has been procured from 38 thousand 451 farmers, apart from this, more than 20 thousand 107 metric tonnes of paddy has been procured from farmers through tokens received online. Purchased. 48 thousand 925 tokens and 7265 tokens have been issued online through the Token Tunhar Haath app for paddy purchase for the coming day.
Food Secretary Mr. Verma told that like last year, this year also along with the purchase of paddy, the lifting of paddy is going on continuously. So far, for the lifting of 8 lakh 46 thousand 831 metric tonnes of paddy, D.O. have been issued, in lieu of which 5 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been lifted from the procurement centres.
The Food Secretary said that in the current season, 25.92 lakh farmers have been registered in the state to sell paddy on the support price, of which about 2.21 lakh are new farmers. 2560 procurement centers have been set up for paddy purchase in the state. This year, normal paddy is being purchased from farmers at the rate of Rs 2040 per quintal and grade-A paddy at Rs 2060 per quintal. The officials are continuously monitoring the paddy procurement system. Strict vigil is being maintained through check posts to prevent illegal transportation of paddy from border states.
