Raipur: Public Works Minister urges to complete National Highways at a rapid pace

Union Minister  Gadkari reviewed the under construction
roads of Chhattisgarh through video conferencing

Raipur, 12 November 2020. Public Works Minister  Tamradhwaj Sahu held discussions with Union Road Transport and State Road Minister  Nitin Gadkari today through video conferencing and informed about the progress of under construction roads under National Highway Project in Chhattisgarh. He urged for the completion of the under-construction roads especially Raipur-Simga-Bilaspur road in the state.

In the video conferencing, Public Works Minister Mr. Sahu told the Union Minister that due to the negligence of contractors on Raipur-Simga-Bilaspur road, there is a possibility of accident on this route. Union Minister  Gadkari asked to submit an inquiry report in this regard and give notice to the concerned contractor and take necessary action against it. He also suggested to resolve the pending cases of land acquisition after discussion with the Chief Minister and Chief Secretary.

During the review, Union Minister  Gadkari directed the officials to complete the process of land acquisition for road widening, upgrading, strengthening and pool construction works under the National Highway Project at the earliest, so that the ongoing works can be completed on the scheduled time. And their cost also did not increase. He also instructed to suspend the contractors who do not work as per the target and to replace those contractors if the progress of work is not well within 2 months.

National Highways Ambikapur-Pathalgaon, Pathalgaon-Kunkuri, Kanker-Bedma, Raigad-Saraipali, Shivnagar-Ambikapur, Kunkri-Chhattisgarh-Jharkhand Border Road, Chilpi-Kawardha, Darrighat-Banari, Banari-Masaniakala, Masaniakala-Reenga border The progress of widening, strengthening and bridge construction of the roads from Kawardha-Simga, Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh border to Surajpur Road, Bilaspur-Mungeli, Ambikapur-Ramanujganj-Garhwa, Bhopalpatnam-Bijapur were reviewed. Public Works Department Secretary Mr. Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi, Chief Engineer Mr. V.K. Bhatprahari and K.K. Pipari and other departmental officers were present.
