Workshop on protection of children, awareness and control on sexual crimes concluded

Under the joint aegis of Chhattisgarh State Child Rights Protection Commission, Legal Services Authority, UNICEF, a workshop was organized in the capital Raipur on subjects related to Juvenile Justice Act, protection of children from sexual offenses and child protection. Speakers in the workshop said that in the process of nation building, protection of health and safety of children and everyone’s participation in their all-round development is essential.  

Addressing the inaugural session of the workshop, Justice Acting Chief Justice and Executive Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Legal Services Authority Mr. Gautam Bhaduri said that you have got the work for the welfare of the children. This is a special work, which even God is watching. You must have many friends and acquaintances who have not got this opportunity. We have got this holy opportunity, we have to make it meaningful. Just as we want to see our children better and happy, in the same way, see the suffering and abused children also, this will give satisfaction to the mind.

 Justice Mr. Bhaduri further said that Child Protection Act has been made for sexual harassment. But its implementation is being done, it is also necessary to see. He told a story from the Panchatantra that a poor man gets some flour and starts dreaming that he will sell it and buy a goat, then sell the goat’s milk and gradually become rich. At the same time, his foot falls on the flour in his sleep and the flour gets scattered. You children should not feel that this is a dream. He told another story that a man had to go somewhere. He asked Swami Vivekananda ji to show me the way. Swami ji said that the path is under your feet which will lead you to your destination. I request all of you officers-employees or people associated with this service that you have got the opportunity, You can do better to protect children. Justice expressed happiness for better work in the direction of child protection and sexual crime awareness and control.

The workshop was also addressed by Chhattisgarh High Court Judge and Juvenile Justice Committee Chairman Justice Mr. P.Sam Koshy, Justice Mr. Deepak Tiwari, Chairperson of Chhattisgarh Child Protection Commission Mrs. Tejkunwar Netam, UNICEF State Chief Mr. Job Zakaria. Chhattisgarh. Shri Prateek Khare, Secretary, Child Protection Commission gave the welcome address. Gratitude was expressed by Mr. Anand Prakash Warial, Member Secretary, Chhattisgarh State Legal Services Authority, Bilaspur.

Justice speakers at the workshop said that a minor who has been subjected to sexual abuse needs more protection than an adult victim, as a minor is less vulnerable to physical abuse, social ostracism and psychological abuse than an adult. . Speakers in the workshop said that protection of health and safety of children is very important in the process of nation building. This smiling innocent applicant is actually one of the marginalized sections of our society. They often become victims of heinous crimes like sexual abuse, pornography, acid attack. In such a situation, all of us stake holders who are occupying important positions, It is their moral and constitutional duty that we work tirelessly to ensure the safety and dignified life of these children. Short films ‘Beyhad Sakht Kanoon Hai’ and ‘Savdhaani Zaroori Hai’ were also screened on the occasion. Mementos were presented to the guests at the workshop.

In the second session of the workshop, division-wise review of pending cases related to Juvenile Justice Board, sexual offenses and child protection was done. Senior officials greatly appreciated the work done in the direction of child protection, with special priority and duties, the officials insisted on taking such decisions that there should be no atrocity in the future of the children.
