Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today inaugurated the direct air service from Bilasa Devi Kenvat Airport, Bilaspur to Bilaspur-Delhi and Bilaspur-Kolkata by virtually flagging off from his residence office Raipur. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao and many public representatives were present at Bilasa Devi Kenwat Airport and Lok Sabha MP Shri Sunil Soni was present at the Chief Minister’s residence.
    Addressing the program on this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said that our Prime Minister has resolved that even those wearing slippers should be able to travel by air. For this purpose, air services are being expanded throughout the country. The Chief Minister said that today a big long standing demand of the people of Nyayadhani Bilaspur is being fulfilled. Direct air service is being started from Bilaspur to Kolkata and from Bilaspur to New Delhi. From my side, I offer many congratulations and best wishes to the people of Bilaspur for this.
    The Chief Minister said that this is a matter of happiness for Chhattisgarh. Entire Chhattisgarh including Bilaspur will get the benefit of this air service. On behalf of the people of Chhattisgarh, the Chief Minister congratulated Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for starting the new air service and expressed his gratitude to him.
    Chief Minister Shri Sai said that today there is a very good news for Jagdalpur also, today air service is being started from Jagdalpur to Jabalpur also. The people of Bastar region will benefit from this air service. Here doors to new possibilities will open in the fields of trade and tourism, education, health, industry etc. The Chief Minister said that the work of upgrading Bilaspur Airport is going on. Night landing facility will soon be available here.
    Bilasa Devi Kenvat Airport Chakarbhata Bilaspur has received 3CVFR license. A 72 seater plane will operate here. An application has been made by the Aviation Department for 3CIFR to facilitate night landing at this airport. This facility will also start soon at Bilaspur airport. Alliance Air is starting three air services in Chhattisgarh today. Of these, two air services from Bilaspur are Delhi-Bilaspur-Delhi and Kolkata-Bilaspur-Kolkata and Jabalpur-Jagdalpur-Jabalpur.
    Today the first direct flight from Kolkata arrived in Bilaspur at 8.55 and left for Kolkata at 9.40. Similarly, the second flight from Delhi arrived in Bilaspur at 9.30 and left for Delhi at 10.10.
    While presiding over the program organized at Bilasa Devi Kenwat Airport Chakarbhata, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shri Arun Sao said that starting of regular air service from Bilaspur to New Delhi and Kolkata simultaneously is a big milestone for the development of Bilaspur. Due to the efforts of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, the demand for starting air service from Bilaspur was fulfilled. He assured that the state government will provide full cooperation in running the airline regularly. He expressed hope that soon regular air service will start from Bilaspur to Hyderabad also.
    Bilha MLA Shri Dharamlal Kaushik said that on the initiative of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, Bilaspur has got the gift of two regular air services simultaneously. He said that adequate number of passenger tickets have been taken since the first day. He said that if Bilaspur Airport gets the facility of night landing soon, there will be no need for cancellation or diversion of flights. City MLA Shri Amar Aggarwal expressed happiness over the commencement of regular air service and congratulated the citizens. He said that the years old dream of the citizens of Bilaspur has been fulfilled today. Takhatpur MLA Shri Dharamjit Singh expressed hope that the air service started from today will continue to serve the people. Beltara MLA Shri Shri Sushant Shukla said that the much awaited demand of the people of Bilaspur has been fulfilled today. He congratulated the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister for this. Shri Shukla said that the air service of Bilaspur has been marked in the ATC map forever. Collector Avnish Sharan gave the welcome speech.

Passengers said: You will not have to go to any other city to catch a flight.

    Divya Vaishnav, who was traveling from Lormi to Delhi, said in her reaction that the people of Bilaspur division have benefited a lot from the start of air service. Now we will not have to go to Raipur to go to Delhi, Kolkata and other places. This will save both our time and money. He thanked Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao for starting regular Delhi and Kolkata air services.
    On this occasion, Kota MLA Mr. Atal Srivastava, Mayor Bilaspur Mr. Ramsharan Yadav, District Panchayat President Bilaspur Mr. Arun Singh Chauhan, Commissioner Mrs. Shikha Rajput Tiwari, Collector Avnish Sharan, SP Rajnesh Singh, Corporation Commissioner Mr. Amit Kumar, Leader of Opposition in the Corporation Mr. Rajesh. Singh, District President Shri Ramdev Kumawat and a large number of passengers and distinguished citizens were present. Many officials including Secretary Aviation Shri Dayanand P., Director Aviation Shri Neelam Namdev Ekka were present at the Chief Minister’s residence.
