Raipur: Prime Minister discusses virtual action plan of Amrit Utsav: Culture Minister Shri Amarjit Bhagat joined on behalf of Chhattisgarh

Raipur, 08 March 2021.  The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today discussed the action plan of Amrit Utsav to be celebrated on the 75th anniversary of independence through video conferencing. Culture Minister Shri Amarjit Bhagat attended the meeting from Chhattisgarh. The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi will start the ‘Amrit Mahotsav’ program from Gujarat on 12 March. Mahatma Gandhi started the Dandi March on this day in 1930, which ended on 5 April. The 25-day Amrit Utsav is also being started from the date of Gandhiji’s Dandi March.
In the video conferencing, the major activities of the Amrit Utsav celebrated on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of independence were discussed. The festival will commence from Sabarmati in Gujarat on 12 March and will culminate in Dandi after covering a distance of 241 miles. All states and union territories will send their representatives to the event. The 75th anniversary of Independence will be remembered as freedom fighters who made valuable contributions to the independence of the country under the Amrit Utsav. Gandhiji started this Satyagraha to remove this tax as salt is an essential thing for life.
