Deputy Chief Minister of the state Shri Vijay Sharma reached the Baiga dominated Sonwahi village yesterday evening and met the affected families

The Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister of the state, Shri Vijay Sharma, yesterday on Friday, reached the remote forest village Sonwahi of Bodla development block of Kabirdham district and met the villagers and the family members of the victim’s family. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sharma expressed his deep condolences on the sudden death of two villagers in village Sonwahi on July 10. He inspected the temporary health camp set up in the tribal boys hostel of village Sonwahi and talked to the patients who came for treatment. He instructed the doctors to provide better treatment. Shri Sharma said that as per the wishes of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the way Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai has given instructions to work on the Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana, take swift action on it and ensure effective implementation of the scheme.

 The Deputy Chief Minister, while directing the district administration, said that there is a need to make an effective action plan to prevent seasonal diseases, diarrhea, vomiting, diarrhea and waterborne diseases in the plain areas including the forest areas. He instructed the collector to organize health camps in the forest areas and run awareness campaigns to prevent seasonal diseases including malaria and diarrhea.
Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sharma instructed to purchase sonography machines from DMF at the government hospitals in remote forest areas Chilfi, Jhalmala and Taregaon forest. He instructed to organize health camps and clone water sources in all the villages in the forest area.
     During the discussion with the villagers, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sharma also took detailed information about the entire incident from the Collector and Chief Medical and Health Officer. Collector Mr. Mahobe informed that two villagers died in village Sonwahi on July 10. It was revealed that five villagers had died. On this subject, Bodla SDM and CMHO were instructed to investigate and conduct a door-to-door survey. The news of the death of five villagers in Sonwahi happened due to different reasons and in different places. The cause of death of all is not diarrhea or vomiting-diarrhea.
     Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. BL Raj said that on July 10, information was received about the death of two villagers in the village. On receiving the information, the doctor and health staff of the nearby Community Health Center Jhalmala reached on July 10 and a temporary hospital was set up in the Adivasi Bal Ashram hostel of the village and the work of health checkup of the villagers was started there. On the second day, on July 11, on the instructions of the Collector, additional health teams from the district level and Chilfi were sent and deployed in village Sonwahi.
    CMHO Dr. Raj said that on July 10, information was received about the death of Sonsingh father Itwari age about 45 years and a woman Mrs. Phoolbai wife Mangal Singh age about 35 years. According to the villagers, Sonsingh had returned home after working in his field, he informed his family about his ill health. After this, she started vomiting and within three to four hours, she died at home. According to the villagers, similarly, woman Phoolbai also died due to vomiting. The sudden death of two villagers was discussed with the villagers. In the preliminary investigation and inquiry, it has come to light that it was food poisoning due to poisonous mushrooms. The postmortem report has not come yet, the reason will become clear after the report comes. During the inquiry and discussion with the villagers, information about the death of three more villagers was given.
     According to the villagers, Suresh Kumar died due to unknown reasons on 8 July. Similarly, Lileshwari, wife of Pusu Ram, died on 8 July in Lalkhar village in Madhya Pradesh. Sonwahi village was the in-law’s village of the deceased. After the delivery, her family members took her to their home in Lalkhar, where she died. Shanti Bai, wife of Rajkumar, died on 4 July in Padki Para of Sahaspur Lohara. The in-law’s village of the deceased woman was Sonwahi. The villagers were saying that all of them died due to vomiting-diarrhoea. The reason for the death of all the deceased is different.  

Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sharma inspected the temporary health center and gave instructions to provide better health treatment to the patients admitted in the sub health center

    Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Sharma inspected the temporary health camp and talked to the patients who came for treatment. Collector Mr. Janmejay Mahobe told that there are 194 houses in village Sonwahi, whose total population is 580. There are 12 wells and 02 hand pumps in this village. A Mitanin is also working. He told that health check-up of people is being done regularly in the village on finding symptoms of illness. On July 11, health check-up of 194 people was done, in which 08 people were admitted to the sub-health center due to ill health. Out of these, 07 people had symptoms of seasonal fever and 01 was vomiting. During the examination, 19 were found malaria positive. Similarly, on July 12, health check-up of 144 people was done, in which 12 were found to have symptoms of seasonal, cold fever, who have been admitted to the Community Health Center Jhalmala. During the examination, 10 were found malaria positive. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sharma gave instructions to provide better health treatment to all the patients.
