Raipur: Preliminary publication of voter list for Panchayat sub-election 2022 will be done on October 14

The Chhattisgarh State Election Commission has released the program to prepare photo electoral rolls for the 2022 by-elections to be held in various panchayats of the state. The preliminary publication of the electoral roll will be done on October 14 of the current month. Claims and objections will be received from the date of publication.
Election Commission officials said that the appointment of registration officers and assistant registration officers would be done by October 7. Appointment and training of employees for preparation of preliminary draft electoral roll, two copies of assembly wise electoral roll prepared by the Election Commission of India on January 1, 2022, will be obtained from the district election office and will be divided into district panchayat wise parts. The copy of the electoral roll will be made available to the district panchayat wise electoral roll registration officer.
Officials said that on the spot verification of the wards included in the initial electoral roll of each gram panchayat and preparation of Aadhar letter and necessary amendment in the list would be done by October 11. The work of preparing, printing and checking the PDF file according to the Aadhar sheet of the preliminary electoral roll through online software will be done till October 12. On the same day the errors found in the check list will be rectified. Simultaneously, Gram Panchayat wise PDF will be prepared and printed in duplicate and signature will be taken from the registering officer in both the copies. Both the copies of the electoral roll along with PDF will be made available to the District Election Officer. By October 12, the district office will hand over the contracted presses for printing the district panchayat wise preliminary electoral rolls.
Janpad Panchayat wise printed electoral rolls will be received by October 13 and will be made available to the registering officers. On this date, the format of information regarding the publication of electoral roll will be sent.
Officials said that in the second phase, publication of public information regarding electoral rolls and receiving of claims and objections will be started from October 14, 2022. The last date and time for receiving claims/objections is Friday 21 October at 3 PM. The last date for settlement of claims and objections received has been fixed as 26 October 2022.
The claim can be submitted to the Registration Officer and Assistant Registration Officer in Form (a) 1 by 27 October 2022. The claim received in Form (a) 1 will be disposed of by 1st November 2022. Appeal against the order for disposal of claims, objections can be made within 5 days from the date of passing of the order. The work of preparing the Gram Panchayat wise supplementary list and PDF and handing over the PDF to the District Election Officer for printing will be done by November 7, 2022. The supplementary lists will be combined with the original preliminary lists by 9 November 2022. The final publication of the electoral roll will be done by the registering officer on November 10, 2022.
It is noteworthy that according to the updated list till August 2022, 606 posts of total three-tier panchayat are vacant in the state. These include 485 of Panch, 111 of Sarpanch, 9 of Janpad member and one post of Zilla Panchayat member.
