Congratulating the insured farmers by providing them a policy documentAgriculture MinisterRavindra Choubey launched the state-wide ‘Meri Policy Mere Hath’ distribution program by providing the policy of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana to the farmers in a brief program organized at his residence office in Raipur today. Mr. Choubey distributed policy documents to 35 farmers on the occasion and congratulated them and extended their best wishes. Minister Shri Choubey also directed the officers of the insurance company to inform the farmers about the terms and conditions of insurance. Under the Meri Policy-Mere Haath program, the policy will be distributed to all the insured farmers of the state in the month of September.
It is worth mentioning that in the Kharif season 2022, about 13 lakh 95 thousand 369 farmers of the state have got their crops insured under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. In this, Rs 161.89 crore as farmer’s share, Rs 535.17 crore as state share and Rs 535.17 crore as central share, thus making a total premium amount of Rs 1232.23 crore. It is noteworthy that in the year 2021-22, a total of 16 lakh 9 thousand 646 farmers from Chhattisgarh had taken insurance under the scheme for Kharif and Rabi crops, out of which 6 lakh 89 thousand 324 farmers got Rs 1340.48 crore as insured amount. The insurance claim was paid. Similarly, in the year 2020-21, for Kharif and Rabi crops, 17 lakh 3 thousand 992 farmers had got insurance under the Prime Minister’s Fasal Bima Yojana. Out of which, on the claims of 6 lakh 18 thousand 640 farmers, 853. A claim of Rs 81 crore was paid. At the same time, 18 lakh 52 thousand 853 farmers of Chhattisgarh had got insurance under the scheme for Kharif and Rabi crops in 2019-20, out of which insurance claim of Rs 1264.34 crore has been paid to 6 lakh 57 thousand 907 farmers.

Provide policy document to insured farmersDuring the programme, Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Kunwar Singh Nishad, Director Agriculture Dr. Ayyaz Fakir Bhai Tamboli, Director Horticulture Mr. Madheswaran, Director Fish Mr. N. s. Nag, in-charge of Prime Minister’s crop insurance, Mr. Mishra, along with representatives of the crop insurance company were present.
