559 missing children were recovered and handed over to their parents

On the instructions of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, Operation Muskaan is being run in the state to trace the missing children. Home Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu had ordered Director General of Police Mr. Ashok Juneja to conduct a comprehensive campaign in this matter. Following the instructions, Inspector General of Police CID Mr. S.C. Under the supervision of Dwivedi, the state-wide campaign “Operation Muskaan” was run from June 01 to June 30, 2023, for the detection of missing children, in which the state police got better success.
Regarding the effective operation of “Operation Smile”, various guidelines were given to the districts by the Police Headquarters, which the Superintendents of Police and Nodal Officers nominated in the districts, taking them seriously, made their commendable contribution in making this campaign a success. This campaign was carried out within the state and in different states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi and Karnataka. During this, the missing children were recovered by the police team formed in the districts by visiting every possible place.
During “Operation Muskaan”, 72 boys and 487 girls have been recovered, in this way a total of 559 missing children from across the state have been recovered, in which the maximum number of missing children are 76 from Janjgir-Champa district, 56 from Raipur, 52 from Bilaspur and 52 from Sakti and the remaining recovered by other districts. By duly handing over the recovered boys/girls to their relatives by the police through “Operation Smile”, success has been achieved in returning smiles on the faces of the missing children and their parents.
