Conduct Quarantine Centers with caution and vigilance – Mr. Singhdev

Raipur. 8 May 2020. Panchayat and Rural Development and Health Minister Shri T.S. Singhdev today discussed the video conference with the district and district panchayat members and sarpanches of all the districts about the quarantine system of migrant laborers. He said that it would be a big challenge for all of us on the return of migrant laborers, their quarantine system and keeping the local villagers safe. For its comprehensive system, the state government is engaged in mobilizing sufficient resources in coordination with all the departments.

In the video conference, Principal Secretary of Panchayat and Rural Development, Mr. Gaurav Dwivedi and Secretary of Health Department, Mrs. Niharika Barik Singh, quarantine centers with full caution and vigilance to the field officers and panchayat representatives of the Panchayat and Rural Development Department attached to the District and District Panchayat Offices. Said to make necessary arrangements. He also gave the necessary instructions about the arrangements for bartering, housing, food, electricity, water, toilets, bathrooms and sanitation. He said that people living in the center should be given food only in disposables. Dispose of the disposables and other materials used by them carefully as per standards.

Panchayat and Rural Development and Health Minister Mr. Singhdev said that there is no need to panic from migrant laborers returning to the village. The corona virus is not spread by air. It is caused by personal contact with an infected person or by entering the body of particles coming out of the mouth or nose through their spit or sneeze. This danger can be avoided with proper screening, monitoring and 14-day quarantine of migrant workers. He said that there should be no direct contact between the people returning from other states and the local villagers during the quarantine period.

The Minister of Panchayat and Rural Development praised the work being done by the Panchayat representatives to improve employment and economic system in the villages during the lock-down period. He congratulated the Panchayat representatives and said that due to the hard work and activeness of your people, the best work is being done in the country in MNREGA in Chhattisgarh. This cooperation is also needed from you in arranging and operating quarantine centers for the protection of the health of migrant workers and local villagers.

He asked the departmental officers and panchayat representatives to not only insist on increasing the number of laborers in MNREGA works but also to extend its real benefits to the needy families. He also directed to make job-cords for migrant laborers willing to work and those who have not made job-cords in the village. The community and individual works of water promotion, water harvesting and irrigation expansion, as well as convergence with various departments, called for livelihood enhancement to be taken up prominently.

Mr. Singhdev called for preparing an action plan for each of its components under the Narva, Garwa, Ghurwa, Bari scheme for every village. He called for strengthening the livelihood of the villagers by linking agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry and fisheries with MNREGA. This will also create better resources for agriculture and allied sectors. He said that with the cooperation of NABARD, work of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana will also be started soon. In the video conference, Secretary of Panchayat and Rural Development Department Shri T.C. Mahawar, Director Shri S. Prakash and Additional Development Commissioner Shri Ashok Choubey were also present.
