Raipur 20 August 2021. Despite the Corona crisis, the state of Chhattisgarh has performed better than expected in every sector. Our aim is to make every section happy and prosperous. With the cooperation of all, we can make Chhattisgarh financially prosperous and empowered, while properly exploiting the resources of the state. These things were said by the Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel during the program ‘Hindustan Ki Baat’ organized here today. On this occasion, he honored the people who have done excellent work in the field of education, health, industry, environment, social service in the state.
The Chief Minister said that in the last two-and-a-half years, many challenges have come, which Chhattisgarh has faced with great courage. Even during the Corona crisis, the wheel of Chhattisgarh’s progress and development remained in motion. The government is constantly striving to provide health, education, employment to all, while taking forward the culture and tradition of the state. Whether it is a matter of loan waiver of farmers or getting them a fair price for their produce, the government has fulfilled its promise in every field. Electricity Bill Half Scheme has been implemented to provide relief to the middle and poor class.
The Chief Minister said that initiatives are being taken to connect every section with employment in the state. Work is being done in this direction to increase the income and purchasing power of the people. Rural Industrial Parks are being set up in Gauthans, where processing units are being set up to provide employment to the people of rural areas as well as other economic activities. Women’s groups are getting employment by making vermicompost from cow dung purchased under Godhan Nyay Yojana in Gauthans. The cattle farmers and villagers have got a source of additional income from the Godhan Nyay Yojana. Many cattle ranchers and villagers are earning lakhs of rupees by selling cow dung. Gauthans are being made in all the villages. 6 thousand Gauthans have been built in the state, where activities from the purchase of cow dung to earning income are being conducted. Minor forest produce is being purchased in forest areas. Earlier only seven minor forest produce were procured, this has been increased to 52. During the Korana crisis, out of the total purchase of minor forest produce in the country, 74 percent of the minor forest produce has been purchased in Chhattisgarh. Processing and value addition of minor forest produce is providing new employment opportunities. The unemployment rate in Chhattisgarh has come down from 22 percent to 3 percent.
Input subsidy is being given to the farmers under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. On the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Late Rajiv Gandhi, today on August 20, the second installment amount of Rs 1522 crore has been transferred to the farmers of the state in their accounts. With this scheme, the interest towards agriculture has increased in the state.
The Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarh has performed well in GST collection during the Corona period. The state has been ranked first in the country in steel production. During the Korana period, Chhattisgarh did the work of providing oxygen to the entire country, in which the steel industries of the state had a meaningful participation. In the new industrial policy, provision has been made for many concessions on the establishment of industries in the state, especially in agriculture and forestry industries. This has attracted entrepreneurs to set up industries in the state.
