Raipur: On the initiative of the Chief Minister, more than 76 thousand migrant workers stranded in other states have returned to Chhattisgarh by 56 special trains so far

More than 2.44 lakh migrant workers returned to Chhattisgarh safely by trains and other means

19 thousand 216 quarantine centers operated from district panchayat to gram panchayat level for returned workers.

Raipur, 31 May 2020.Due to the lockdown implemented for prevention of Novel Corona Virus (Kovid-19), the process of bringing back the workers of Chhattisgarh and others stranded in other states on the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel is continuing. Till yesterday, 76 thousand 772 workers have returned to Chhattisgarh through 56 trains. So far 2 lakh 44 thousand 686 workers have been returned safely through other means including trains. Currently, the process of arrival of trains is on.

Workers returned from other states to Chhattisgarh have been accommodated in a total of 19 thousand 216 quarantine centers set up from all the district headquarters of the state to the gram panchayat level. At present, 2 lakh 3 thousand 581 workers and family members are staying. The total capacity of quarantine centers established in the state is 7 lakh 6 thousand 416.

Arrangements for food, drinking water, medical treatment, TV, radio have also been made for the workers in the quarantine center. Besides, activities of yoga and sports are also being conducted there. Classes are also being conducted in several quarantine centers in collaboration with local educated youth for the education of the children of workers.

Quarantine centers for workers have been set up in public buildings, gram panchayat school buildings and ashrams and hostels away from the township, where health testing and screening of workers visiting all quarantine centers is being done by the Health Department team. Workers who are coming from the Red Zone are being tested with a rapid kit. Apart from this, workers returning from Orange Zone who have a cold, cold or cough are also being investigated. If anyone falls ill in the center, apart from making it stay in a separate room, arrangements are being made by the administration to keep it in the iSholson ward of the hospital if needed. Counseling of people with mental stress is also being arranged in quarantine centers. Special arrangements have been made to look after the health of pregnant women, such workers staying in Quarantine Center who are suffering from high blood pressure, diabetes. All measures to prevent corona infection are being taken special care at the Quarantine Center. Regular cleanliness of quarantine centers has been arranged.
