Raipur, 28 February 2022. On the occasion of the holy festival of Mahashivratri, Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel will have darshan of Lord Shiva at the temples of Kauhi and Thakurintola in Patan of Durg district. On this occasion, Mr. Baghel will perform Bhoomipujan of bridge to be constructed at Thakurintola at a cost of Rs.19 crore 40 lakh, embankment work for flood control with an amount of Rs.2 crore 90 lakh. The Chief Minister will perform Bhoomi Pujan of Rs 52 crore 40 lakh structures related to water resources in Kauhi. Including this, in Patan development block, various works of Water Resources Department costing about Rs 74 crore will be performed. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel will construct a high level bridge in Khamharia drain of Patan development block at a cost of Rs.6 crore. Will inaugurate solar community irrigation schemes and pond filling schemes in Thakurintola by CREDA and a plan prepared at a cost of Rs. 4 crore 9 lakh for filling the pond through solar pump in Kauhi. In the program, Bhoomipujan of pond filling scheme will be done in Kauhi itself by CREDA at Kharra and Tarrighat at a cost of 89 lakhs and 57 lakhs respectively through solar pumps.
It is noteworthy that last time the Chief Minister had announced the construction of Lakshman Jhula here keeping in mind the convenience of the devotees. Landscaping work will also be done on the other side of the coast behind Laxman Jhula. With the completion of the bridge in Khamharia Nala, a population of 50 thousand in 25 villages will be benefited. Through the schemes of CREDA, farmers in large population in Thakurintola, Sikola, Teligundra, Jarwai, Kharra, Tarrighat will get benefit for both Kharif and Rabi crops. Along with augmentation of ground water, drainage facility will also be available.
