Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel will release an amount of Rs. 8.23 crore to the beneficiaries through a virtual program organized for the transfer of funds under the Godhan Nyaya Yojana at the Chief Minister’s residence office on February 6. This includes Rs 4 crore 76 lakh to cow dung vendors, Rs 2.04 crore to Gauthan committees and Rs 1.43 crore to women groups in lieu of purchase of 2.38 lakh quintal cow dung in Gauthans from January 15-31.
It is worth mentioning here that out of Rs 4.76 crore to be transferred to the vendors for cow dung purchase under Godhan Nyaya Yojana, only Rs 1.98 crore will be paid by the Agriculture Department and Rs 2.78 crore will be paid by the self-supporting Gauthans. It is worth mentioning that till now 4927 Gothans have become self-reliant in the state, who have started purchasing cow dung from their own accumulated capital. Till now cow dung worth Rs 40.49 crore has been purchased and paid by the self-supporting Gothans.
Payment of 403.58 crores to the beneficiaries-
Under the Godhan Nyaya Yojana, Rs 395 crore 35 lakh has been paid to the beneficiaries in the state. After the payment of 8.23 crores on February 5, this figure will be Rs 403 crore 58 lakh. It is noteworthy here that cow dung is being procured in the state of Chhattisgarh from July 20, 2020 at Rs.2 per kg under the Godhan Nyaya Yojana. Till January 31, 2023, 103.25 lakh quintal cow dung has been procured in the state. Till January 15, Rs 201.73 crore has been paid in lieu of cow dung purchased from cow dung vendors. After payment of Rs 4.76 crore to cow dung vendors on February 5, this figure will be Rs 206 crore 49 lakh. Rs 175 crore 64 lakh has been paid to Gauthan committees and women self-help groups. After payment of Rs 3.47 crore to Gauthan committees and self-help groups on February 5, this figure will increase to Rs 179.11 crore.
