Equal participation of self-supporting Gauthans in cow dung purchase

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel will release an amount of Rs 8 crore 63 lakh online to cattle rearing villagers, women groups and Gauthan committees through a virtual program organized for the transfer of funds for the Godhan Nyaya Yojana at the Chief Minister’s residence office on February 20, in which 1 From February to February 15, cattle herders in Gauthans, villagers, farmers and landless farmers got Rs. 4 crore 76 lakh in exchange of 2.38 lakh quintal cow dung, Rs. 2.28 crore to Gauthan committees and Rs. 1.59 crore to women groups.
Under the Godhan Nyaya Yojana, self-supporting Gothans have started playing equal participation in the purchase of cow dung. For the past several fortnights, the share of self-supporting Gauthans in the amount being paid for the purchase of cow dung has started to remain 60 to 70 percent. In today’s situation, more than 50 percent Gothans have become self-supporting, who along with the purchase of cow dung and cow urine from their own funds, are paying for other expenses of the Gothans from their own capital. From February 1 to February 15, a total of 2.38 lakh quintals of cow dung has been purchased in Gauthans. In lieu of which, out of Rs 4.76 crore to be transferred to cow dung vendors, Rs 2.06 crore will be paid by the Agriculture Department and Rs 2.70 crore by the self-supporting Gothans. So far Rs 40.19 crore has been paid by self-supporting Gothans from their own funds in lieu of cow dung purchase.
It is noteworthy that under the Godhan Nyaya Yojana, Rs 403 crore 58 lakh has been paid to the beneficiaries in the state. After the payment of 8.63 crore on February 20, this figure will be Rs 412 crore 21 lakh. It is noteworthy here that cow dung is being procured in the state of Chhattisgarh from July 20, 2020 at Rs.2 per kg under the Godhan Nyaya Yojana. Till February 15, 2023, 105.63 lakh quintals of cow dung has been procured in Gothans in the state. Rs 206 crore 49 lakh has been paid in lieu of cow dung purchased from cow dung vendors till January 31. After payment of Rs 4.76 crore to cow dung vendors on February 20, this figure will be Rs 211 crore 25 lakh. Rs 179 crore 11 lakh has been paid to Gauthan committees and women self-help groups. After payment of Rs 3.87 crore to Gauthan committees and self-help groups on February 20, this figure will increase to Rs 182.98 crore.
