Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel will release an amount of Rs 5 crore 32 lakh online to cattle rearing villagers, women groups and Gauthan committees under the Godhan Nyaya Yojana on April 05, in which 1 lakh 45 thousand quintal cow dung was purchased from March 16 to March 31. Apart from the payment of Rs. 2 crore 91 lakh in lieu of this, a dividend amount of Rs. 1.43 crore to Gauthan committees and Rs. 98 lakh to women’s groups is included.
Under the Godhan Nyaya Yojana, 5 thousand 213 Gauthans have become self-supporting in the state. Along with the arrangements for both the self-supporting Gothans, they have started actively participating in the matter of cow dung procurement. In the second fortnight of March, these Gauthans have bought cow dung worth 01 crore 67 lakh from their own capital, including the payment of which one crore 24 lakh rupees will be paid by the Agriculture Department to the cow dung sellers. So far, cow dung worth Rs 49 crore 21 lakh has been purchased by self-supporting Gauthan with its own accumulated capital.
It may be noted that under the Godhan Nyaya Yojana, payment of 5.32 crore will be made to the beneficiaries on April 05. After which this figure of the total amount to be paid to the beneficiaries under the scheme will increase to Rs 430 crore 93 lakh. In the state of Chhattisgarh, from July 20, 2020, under the Godhan Nyaya Yojana, cow dung is being procured at Rs 2 per kg. In the state till March 31, 2023, 111.04 lakh quintal cow dung has been procured from Gothans. After payment on April 5, total payment of Rs 222 crore 09 lakh to cow dung vendors and total payment of Rs 188 crore 43 lakh to Gauthan committees and women self-help groups will be completed.
