The representatives of Sarva Adivasi Samaj and Baiga Samaj met Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel at his residence office here today and expressed their gratitude to him for the approval of PESA Act in Chhattisgarh Tribes Advisory Council. On this occasion, the delegates welcomed the Chief Minister with a bouquet.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel said that now its implementation will become easy after the Occupation Act becomes a rule. This will bring a sense of self-reliance and self-reliance among the people of tribal society. He said that the power of Gram Sabha will increase with the implementation of PESA Act. 50 percent of the members of the Gram Sabha will be from the tribal community. Of this 50 percent, one-fourth will be women members. The head of the Gram Sabha will be tribal. Women and male presidents will get leadership opportunities at a span of one year each. There will also be the right to take decisions in the development of the village and to settle mutual disputes.
The Chief Minister told the representatives of the society that the people of the tribal community of Chhattisgarh who have migrated to other states due to some reason. Also contribute your bit in bringing them back to Chhattisgarh. They will also be given benefits as per eligibility under the scheme of the state government. The Chief Minister said that for the people of tribal caste whose caste certificate is not being generated due to quantitative error or other reasons, the state level team will prepare documents for research and research, which will be sent to the central government.
The Chief Minister said that work is being done to provide fair price to the forest dwellers by doing value addition of forest produce. Arrangements are also being made to protect the forest produce. Mahua has started getting the benefit of collection by putting a net under the Mahua tree. Due to this, the price of Mahua is getting good and the way of export has been opened abroad. Kulfi and cold drinks are being prepared by processing the tikhur. Parliamentary Secretary Shri Shishupal Sori, MLA Shri Ram Kumar Yadav, Provincial President of Sarva Adivasi Mahasabha, Bharat Singh and state and district level representatives of Sarva Adivasi Samaj from different districts were present on this occasion.
