Raipur : Number of corona testing in Chhattisgarh increases by one and a half times in last one and half months

Raipur, 16 April 2021. Chhattisgarh government is continuously working on war footing for the prevention of corona infection, identification and treatment of infected patients in the state. Currently, more than 47 thousand people are being tested for corona daily. The number of tests per day was 30 thousand in the month of March, which has increased to more than 47 thousand in the month of April. In the month of January 2021, the average daily testing was 22 thousand 761, in this sense, the number of corona testing has increased almost 3 times. The state’s daily test is 1620 (per 10 lakh population), while the country’s average is 1018. In the state Truenat testing facilities are available in 31 government and 5 private labs. RTPCR test of corona is being conducted in 7 government labs and 5 private labs of the state and rapid antigen test facility is also available in primary health centers.

According to the information received from the Health Department, the percentage of RTPCR investigations in total Covid investigations in the state has increased by 14 percent as compared to October 2020. In the month of April, the percentage of investigation of RTPCR has increased to 40. 4 new government RTPCR labs are being set up in Mahasamund, Kanker and Korea. In each district, the testing capacity of TrueNat Lab is being increased by providing additional machines.

At present, there are a total of 1 lakh 18 thousand 636 active cases of Covid-19 in the state, out of which most of the cases are in Raipur, Durg, Rajnandgaon, Balodabazar, Bilaspur, Mahasamund, Korba and Bemetara districts. So far,in 63 lakh 62 thousand 947 corona investigations in the state have 4 lakh 86 thousand 244 cases of corona have been identified, out of which 3 lakh 62 thousand 301 patients are healthy now , the rest are undertreament. In the state, 604 containment zones have been declared in view of the present-day corona infection, most of the containment zones are in Raipur, Rajnandgaon, Korba and Gariaband districts, where active surveillance and testing is being done door-to-door.

Six dedicated Covid Hospitals and 137 Covid Care Centers have been set up in the state including 6 Medical Colleges and AIIMS Raipur. Dedicated Covid Hospital has been set up in every district of the state. 4686 beds have been set up in Government Dedicated Covid Hospital and 14,608 beds in Covid Care Center. The Government Dedicated Covid Hospital has 510 ICUs, 504 HDUs and in addition 1915 oxygen-rich beds. Similarly 1787 oxygen-rich beds have been constructed in the Government Covid Center. Private Covid hospitals have a total of 3,082 beds, 832 ICUs, 381 HDUs and 1232 oxygen beds available. In the state, 514 ventilators are available in government hospitals and 301 in private hospitals, thus a total of 815 ventilators are available.

Considering the situation of corona infection in the state, continuous work is being done to increase the number of beds with medical facility and oxygen. 14 new oxygen generation plants have been set up in the state. Establishment of 10 oxygen plants is under process, which will start oxygen generation in the next one week. A special tele-consultancy hub has been set up at Raipur Medical College, through which tele-communication facility is being provided by the subject experts of the college for the last one year through video conferencing to all government dedicated Covid hospitals. .
So far home isolation has been provided to more than 2.5 lakh people in the state, out of which 90 percent of the patients have been healthy. Control rooms have been set up in each district to monitor home isolated patients. Currently, an average of 2.13 lakh people are being vaccinated for corona every day in the state. A total of 46.44 lakh people have been vaccinated with the first and second doses of corona vaccine, including health workers, front-line workers and citizens above 45 years of age in the state. 36.47 lakh citizens over 45 years have been given first dose and 1.11 lakh people have been vaccinated for second dose.
