Locus application training and model cluster strategy reviewed at Serikhedi CMTC

The team of National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM), Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and GDI (Governance Development Initiatives) from New Delhi visited the Multi Utility Center and Community Managed Training Center (CMTC) at Serikhedi, Raipur. The team visited the Locus Application Training at CMTC and discussed its implementation in detail with the participants. The team also visited Bihan Cafeteria, Millet Cafe and Ripa (Rural Industrial Park) in Village Temari. The visiting team included Mr. Prabhat Kumar, National Mission Manager, NRLM, New Delhi, Mr. Harish Iyer, Deputy Director, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Ms. Anaita Singh, Mr. Prashant Kumar and Mr. Ankit Jain.
Team members from the National Mission Management Unit of NRLM, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and GDI e-book keeper and mission staff on Locus application designed to digitize transactions of community organizations at Community Managed Training Center at Serikhedi Supervised the training being imparted to Master trainers of National Resource Organization (NRO) are imparting training to the staff of State Rural Livelihoods Mission (BIHAN). The team members discussed the implementation of the Locus application in detail with the participants during the inspection.
Team from NRLM, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and GDI visited Kalpataru Multi Utility Center at Serikhedi for various livelihood activities Mushroom Production, Bakery, Handicraft, Soap Unit, Namkeen Unit, Handloom, Tailoring Unit, Nursery, Pisciculture, Pearl Farming and Canteen Did. He also bought goods manufactured by self-help groups. The team members attended the executive committee meeting of Model Cluster Asha Cluster Sangathan, Chandkhuri of Arang development block. He asked the executive members to run the cluster organization according to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), decision making process in the cluster, financial management, documentation, livelihood activities conducted under the cluster, marketing of group products, office management, functions of office bearers. And discussed in detail about the discharge of responsibilities. Team ‘Bihaan’ Provided guidance to make the cluster organizations self-reliant by discussing about the social, economic and mental changes in the lives of the women associated with it and the positive changes in their standard of living. During this, the women of self-help groups shared their work, income and experiences of change in their socio-economic status.
The team from NRLM, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and GDI also visited Bihaan Cafeteria (Nook Cafe), Millet Cafe and Ripa at Temari. After the visit, the team members met Director of State Rural Livelihood Mission Mr. Avnish Sharan, Joint Secretary of Panchayat and Rural Development Department Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh and Joint Mission Director of ‘Bihan’ Mr. R.K. In the meeting with Jha, discussed the upcoming action plan by sharing their experiences and feedback. The members of the excursion team appreciated the various initiatives being taken in the field of social inclusion and livelihood in the state through ‘Bihaan’ with an integrated model for strengthening the rural economy and making women and community organizations self-reliant.
