TRIFED launches online platform to provide better market to products of tribal entrepreneurs

Raipur, 04 October 2020.  Now, people of India and abroad will be able to taste the quality of this product online by purchasing the brand name of ‘Tamarind Test of Sukma’ prepared from the famous tamarind of Bastar by tribal entrepreneurs of tribal dominated Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. To ensure better market for products and handicrafts of tribal enterprises, TRIFED has launched ‘Tribal India E-Market Place’ online platform. On this online platform, Imli Chaska ‘Test of Sukma’ produced by the tribal entrepreneurs of Sukma district of Chhattisgarh has been included.
TRIFED is helping to provide better market to the products of tribal entrepreneurs and help people to get quality products directly to the market. Under this, TRIFED e market has been launched online on 2 October on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. Under ‘Tribal India e-Market Place’, tamarind product from Chhattisgarh to Sukma district has been included in the Tribal India product line-up. Apart from this, attractive handicrafts and decorative items made by the tribes of Chhattisgarh will also be included in the Market Place Tribal India. It will also include spices like turmeric powder in addition to tamarind tamarind made from Sukma tamarind.
It is worth noting that Tribal India e-Market Place is an ambitious initiative through which TRIFED aims to procure various handicrafts, handlooms and natural food products across the country to deliver the best tribal products to the general public. The platform facilitates a multi-channel channel for tribal suppliers to sell their goods in the e-market place. ‘Tamali of Sukma’ is included in the tamarind Chaska of Chhattisgarh.
The tamarind Chaska ‘Test of Sukma’ product in Chhattisgarh is manufactured by the Aranya Prasanna Cooperative Society, Maryadit Sukma. The committee consists of 21 women members of the district. The Aranya Processing Cooperative Society has been formed by women self-help groups of National Rural Livelihoods Mission. The manager of the committee was told that the tamarind is purchased at the minimum support price (MSP) set by the government. According to the demand, tamarind chaska is being manufactured in 100 grams, 200 grams, 500 grams and pouches. Apart from this, TRIFED has ordered two thousand packs of tamarind Chaska, as well as consent to order turmeric powder. Tamarind Chaska Test of Sukma product is also available at Shabari Mart Sukma.
