Raipur, 31 January 2022. After the formation of the new government in Chhattisgarh, schemes are being implemented with the aim of ‘Nyay Sabbo Bar-Sabbo Dahar’ and their implementation is also being done. In the chain of ‘Nyay’ for different sections, now ‘Nyay’ is going to be given to the rural landless agricultural labor family. The scheme will start on 3rd February. MP Shri Rahul Gandhi will launch this scheme at the Science College ground in the capital Raipur. Under this scheme being launched by the state government, financial assistance of Rs.6 thousand per year will be given to the rural landless agricultural laborer family. For this, a provision of Rs 200 crore has been made in the supplementary budget of the state. In the program, MP Shri Rahul Gandhi will transfer the amount directly to 3 lakh 55 thousand landless agricultural laborers eligible for the scheme through DBT in their bank accounts.
Significantly, 70 percent of the population of Chhattisgarh is engaged in agricultural activities. A large number of agricultural laborers are involved in farming activities. Many of these are agricultural laborers who do not have their own agricultural land and work as laborers on the agricultural land of others to support their families. The sensitive Chief Minister of the state, Shri Bhupesh Baghel, understood the problem of these landless agricultural laborers and announced to implement ‘Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Bhumiless Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana’ to give them financial strength. Landless agricultural laborers were registered for the scheme from 1 September 2021 to 30 November 2021. Along with this, necessary guidelines were issued by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department to all the district collectors to identify the beneficiaries and provide them grants on annual basis. According to the information received from the department, ‘Rajiv Gandhi Rural Landless Agricultural Mazdoor Nyay Yojana’
Hence the scheme –
A large part of the rural population in the state of Chhattisgarh is associated with agricultural activities. In agricultural work, many landless families in the village work as agricultural laborers. There are ample opportunities for agricultural labor in the state in the Kharif season itself, but in the Rabi season, due to less crop cover, the opportunities for agricultural labor are reduced. Many of these agricultural laborers are landless, who do not have land of their own. In such a situation, this scheme will prove to be a big help for the landless families.
These will be eligible for the scheme –
The eligibility under the scheme will be only for the original residents of Chhattisgarh. Under the rural landless agricultural labor families, families belonging to the narrow-spreading system like shepherds, carpenters, blacksmiths, cobblers, barbers, washermen and priests, forest produce collectors and other categories as fixed from time to time will also be eligible. The necessary condition for the beneficiaries of this scheme is that the beneficiary family should not have agricultural land. Land held for residential purpose will not be treated as agricultural land.
Another important scheme of the state –
Let us tell you that ‘Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Bhoomiless Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana’ is another important scheme of the state, through which rural landless laborers will get direct financial help. Before this scheme, the state government has implemented ‘Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana’ and ‘Godhan Nyay Yojana’, which are being discussed in the country and the world. Through ‘Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana’, huge amount is being given to farmers in the form of input subsidy for crop diversification and increasing production and productivity. No state government across the country is providing such help to the farmers.
At the same time, through ‘Godhan Nyay Yojana’, direct benefit is being given to the farmers of the state by purchasing cow dung at the rate of Rs 2 per kg. Products like vermi compost and super compost are being made from the dung purchased under this scheme, which is working towards promoting organic agriculture. Along with this, many products including cow-cast, diyas, pots are being made by many women self-help groups, due to which women of self-help groups and their families are getting economic strength and prosperity. Now electricity generation has also started from cow dung. At the same time, work is also being done in the direction of making paint for painting the wall.
Version –
Our government wants to provide direct help to the poor sections of the rural areas as per the dreams of former Prime Minister Shri Rajiv Gandhi. We are going to fulfill this through Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Bhumiless Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana. I am very happy that Chhattisgarh is the first state in the country, which has implemented such a scheme for landless agricultural labourers. Just as the financial help given to the farmers has strengthened the market, in the same way the financial help given to the landless agricultural laborers will also become a medium to give impetus to the economy in the rural areas.
– Shri Bhupesh Baghel, Chief Minister, Government of Chhattisgarh
