Raipur: No one in the government is above the law, even if it is my 86-year-old father: Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel

Raipur, 5 September 2021. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has said that the remarks made by his father Shri Nand Kumar Baghel against a particular class in the past have come to his notice. This remark of his has hurt the sentiments and social harmony of a section of the society, his statement has also hurt him.

Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that I have come to know through social media and other mediums that it is being said that action will not be taken against Mr. Nandkumar Baghel because he is the father of Chief Minister. Shri Bhupesh Baghel has made it very clear that his government looks at everyone with the same vision. Everyone knows that his ideological differences with his father Shri Nandkumar Baghel are from the beginning.

Chief Minister Shri Baghel has said that our political views and beliefs are also completely different. As a son, I respect him but as a chief minister, none of his mistakes can be forgiven which would disturb the public order. No one is above the law in his government, even if he is the Chief Minister’s 86-year-old father.

Shri Bhupesh Baghel has said that legal action will be taken by the police in this regard. The Government of Chhattisgarh respects the respect and feelings of people of every caste, every religion, every class, every community, gives equal importance to all and considers it its duty to protect the dignity and constitutional rights of all. The Chief Minister has said – Law is paramount for us.
