Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the special guest of the program along with the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel in Jagdalpur at the conference of trust, visited the exhibition put up by the Bamboo Craft Center of Narayanpur district at the venue and highly appreciated their goods. During the observation,
 the women presented a bouquet made of bamboo to Mrs. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, then Mrs. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra put her hand on the woman’s shoulder and asked, where are you from….the women replied laughingly.

Sitabai of Gumiyabeda village of Abujhmad and Palebai of Usebeda village of Narayanpur district told that after the killing of their family members by Naxalites, they left Abujhmad and settled in Narayanpur. These illiterate women who were Naxal victims had no means of earning. She was given training in bamboo craft by the government by settling her in Narayanpur, now she is moving forward on the path of economic self-reliance by becoming a bamboo craftsman and writing the story of economic self-reliance. The local villagers of the district and the tribal people understand the importance of bamboo craft by the government. The people here make many useful, attractive and attractive materials by doing bamboo work prominently. Bamboo craft training center was established in Narayanpur due to interest of local people towards bamboo craft. In this training center, local residents are trained in bamboo craft as well as bell metal and wood art. The main purpose of bamboo craft is the tribal families here who are traditionally engaged in craft work. They have to be provided employment through continuous employment training etc.

Bamboo craft has become the basis of employment of forest dwellers on the guidance of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel. The people of the Vanvasi family living in Abujhmad have been connected with the work of bamboo craft for employment. Bamboo craft of Narayanpur district is continuously providing training to the people of the tribal family in the works of bamboo craft and through designing development, employment is being created by manufacturing different types of bamboo furniture, domestic useful and decorative materials.

Apart from the traditional bamboo craft business of the tribal families of the district, manufacturing useful materials, in addition to sofa sets, tables, stools, moda, partitions, rakes, etc., innovating bamboo baskets, buttons, stoppers, pot pots, pen stands, tea coasters, Lamps, beds and boss’s tree guards etc. are being manufactured and sold prominently. 100 people from about 40 families at the local level are benefiting from the creation of employment through this center. It has also earned a profit of 9 lakhs in the last financial year. Bamboo boxes prepared by bamboo craftsmen were supplied to Chhattisgarh Khadi and Village Industries Board Raipur, Bamboo Button Apex Handloom Handloom Department, Bamboo Stopper Superintendent of Police Narayanpur and Kondagaon as per the demand. Apart from this, the bamboo mobile-cum-pen stand, bamboo lamp and bamboo bed manufactured here have become the first choice of the people.
