On the instructions of Finance Minister Shri O.P. Chaudhary, a plan for drinking water supply for the next 25 years was made
Proposal for a new pipeline from Kodapar to Thanaud Tila Anicut
16 km long pipeline will be laid at a cost of Rs 109 crore
Raipur 19 December 2024
Due to the efforts of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, Nava Raipur Atal Nagar is moving towards becoming a city with modern facilities. State Housing and Environment Minister Shri OP Choudhary is working to prepare Nava Raipur Atal Nagar as a city of the future to make it one of the modern cities of the country. One of these plans is the uninterrupted supply of drinking water to the people of Nava Raipur Atal Nagar for the next 25 years. Nava Raipur Development Authority has started its preparations to provide drinking water in future as per the demand of depletion of underground water and increasing population.
For this, a proposal has been prepared to lay a new pipeline from Kodapar to Thanaud Tila Anicut near Abhanpur. This pipeline will be 16 km long and its estimated cost will be around Rs 109 crore. Water is supplied from Tila Anicut in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar. But due to water shortage during summer, water is supplied from Kodapar to Thanaud through a natural open canal. Water comes to Kodapar from Ravishankar reservoir. The distance of the open canal from Kodapar to Thanaud is about 25 km. A lot of water is lost when released through an open canal for such a long distance. Due to the open canal, the actual capacity of water cannot be used.
To ensure that the people of Nava Raipur do not face any water problem and there is no loss of water, canal water will be transported to Naya Raipur Atal Nagar through pipeline instead of natural canal. Laying of pipeline will also reduce the distance from Kodapar to Thanaud and water will reach Thanaud in its actual capacity without any loss. After implementation and completion of this project, the citizens of the city will not have to face any problem related to drinking water in future.
