Chief Justice gave instructions to resolve the old pending cases by coordinating with the parties and concerned departments.

As per the instructions of Justice Shri Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court and Chief Patron, State Legal Services Authority, National Lok Adalat will be organized in the state on March 9, 2024. All the District Judges, Chairpersons, District Legal Services Authorities and Family Court Judges should be informed about the old pending cases eligible for resignation in National Lok Adalat, Section 138 NI Act, Family Court Matter, Motor Accident Claim Case, Civil and Criminal cases by identifying them and resolving them. Instructions have been given. Besides, by issuing notices to the parties through the District Judge, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Secretary, Department, instructions have also been given to resolve as many cases as possible in the Lok Adalat and ensure its service.
It is noteworthy that in this sequence, on March 8, 2024, Justice Shri Gautam Bhaduri, Executive Chairman of the State Legal Services Authority, along with all the District Judges, Chairman, Secretary, Family Court Judge, Chairman Permanent Lok Adalat, CJM from the NIC of Chhattisgarh High Court, video Through conferencing, instructions have been given to resolve the cases pending in the courts for more than 5 and 10 years, pending cases related to senior citizens and cases related to women through resignation. He said that by increasing the number of cases identified so far as pre-litigation cases by the districts, all the concerned departments should establish pre-siting, cooperation and coordination with the financial institutions and also include more and more cases in the revenue cases in the upcoming National Lok Adalat. Apart from this, Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, Department of Law and Legislative Affairs, Ministry of Raipur should also send maximum number of cases from Revenue Courts to National Lok Adalat and make every effort to resolve them. For this, instructions have been given to the concerned departments as well as the collectors and the Director General of Police has also been asked to provide necessary cooperation in the Lok Adalat. On the recommendation of the Executive Chairman, SALSA has sent a request to the Managing Director, Chhattisgarh State Electricity Distribution Company Limited, Raipur for the National Lok Adalat to assess the actual outstanding principal amount and the amount of surcharge in electricity related cases and facilitate exemption from payment of surcharge. By making an incentive scheme, instructions have been given to extend its benefits to as many parties as possible through Lok Adalat.
It is noteworthy that in the National Lok Adalat held in the year 2023, the District Judges and Family Court Judges of the districts who performed excellently were honored. According to the instructions of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), New Delhi, like last year, in the year 2024 also, the dates of National Lok Adalat have been fixed as 09 March 2024, 11 May 2024, 14 September 2024 and 14 December 2024. Instructions have been given to organize National Lok Adalat in all civil and revenue courts and resolve as many cases as possible.
