Raipur, 05 October 2021. Under the state government’s ambitious ‘Narva Vikas Yojana’, 01 lakh 41 thousand 539 structures related to ground water conservation are being constructed in 15 different Narwas of 112 km length under the three tiger reserves. For their construction, an amount of Rs 18 crore 52 lakh has been approved under CAMPA’s Annual Action Plan 2020-21. With the construction of these structures in Achanakmar, Udanti Sitanadi and Indravati Tiger Reserves of the state, 19 thousand 843 hectares of land under the Tiger Reserve area will be treated.
Of these, more than 7 thousand structures are being constructed in 07 different Narwas of 36 km length in Achanakmar Tiger Reserve Lormi under Forest Division Bilaspur with an amount of Rs.8 crore 68 lakh. Out of which construction is in progress in Chirka Pahar Nala, Baghdugdh Nala, Kanhaiya Nala, Goi Nala, Sukhnala, Chhote Thoda Pani Nala and Chakda Nala. These include construction of loose boulder check dam, brushwood check dam, contour trench, stop dam, dubri, pond, ardan dam, ardan gully plug, gabion structure and 30-40 models etc.
Similarly, in Udanti Sitanadi Tiger Reserve under Gariaband Forest Division, construction of 459 ground water conservation structures is in progress in two separate Narwas of 22 km length with an amount of Rs 1.5 crore. In these, various structures are being constructed in Menda Nala and Dhoban Nala. Apart from this, 01 lakh 34 thousand structures are being constructed in six different Narwas of 54 km length in Indravati Tiger Reserve under Bijapur Forest Division with an amount of Rs 8 crore 35 lakh. Among these, construction of various structures is in progress in Idkapalli Nala, Ballyphool Nala, Bhadu Nala, Atal Nala, Masegunda Nala and Gudma Nala.
