Chief Minister inaugurates new ground water augmentation infrastructure works worth Rs 209 crore for treatment of 1089 drains in forest areas in the year

Narva development works will be done in 151 drains of 3 tiger reserves, 2 National Parks and 1 Elephant Reserve in the state
Water enrichment structures will be built in 58 drains of Indravati Tiger Reserve, 42 of Guru Ghasidas National Park, 28 of Achanakmar Tiger Reserve, 11 of Kanger Valley National Park, 10 of Udanti Sitanadi Tiger Reserve and 2 of Tamoripingala Elephant Reserve.
Raipur, 07 October 2020. On the special initiative of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, the work of conserving ground water in the forest areas and reviving the water resources, river drains and ponds under the Narva Development Scheme being conducted for conservation and promotion of ground water in forest areas. being done. Under the Campa item in the state, in the year 2019-20, 137 Narva were selected and 31 forest divisions, one national park, two tiger reserves, one elephant reserve, one social forestry area, at a cost of Rs 160.95 crore. Out of the water structures, 10 lakh 77 thousand structures have been built. In this way 86 percent work has been completed, due to this, 3 lakh 12 thousand hectare land has been treated.
Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel yesterday inaugurated the construction of structures related to ground water conservation and promotion to be constructed in the approved works for the year 2020-21 of Campa item under Narva Development Scheme from his residence office. In these works, Narva development works will be done in 151 drains of 3 Tiger Reserves, 2 National Parks and 1 Elephant Reserve from Campa item. Of these, 58 nalas of Indravati Tiger Reserve, 42 nalas of Guru Ghasidas National Park, 28 nalas of Achanakmar Tiger Reserve, 11 nalas of Kanger Valley National Park, Water enrichment structures will be built in 10 nallahs of Udanti Sitanadi Tiger Reserve and 2 nallahs of Tamorpingala Elephant Reserve. Together, 12 lakh 64 thousand ground-water storage structures will be constructed in 1089 nalas of 37 forest divisions. With this, 4 lakh 28 thousand 827 hectare land will be treated. These water storage structures built of Campa item will ensure the availability of drinking water for the people and wildlife living in Vananchal. Due to water logging in the drain, moisture will remain in the surrounding land. This will increase cultivation and source of income.
Forest Minister Shri Mohammad Akbar informed that under the Campa item in the state, in the year 2019-20, 137 Narva were selected and 31 Forest Circle, One National Park, Two Tiger Reserve, One Elephant Reserve, One Social Forestry Area at a cost of Rs. Out of a total of 12 lakh 56 thousand ground water structures, 10 lakh 77 thousand structures have been constructed. Thus 86 percent of the works were completed. Similarly, in the year 2020-21, under the Narva Development Scheme, 12 lakh 64 thousand ground water augmentation structures will be constructed at a cost of Rs 209 crore. Under the CAMPA item, more than 25 lakh ground water promotion related structures will be constructed with the sanctioned works in the year 2019-20 and 2020-21 amounting to about Rs 370 crore. With this, in one thousand 995 drains of 313 water catchment area, 7 lakh 4 thousand hectare area will be treated by stopdem, checkdem, gliplug, dyke, loose boulder checkdams etc.
Regarding the works sanctioned under the Narva Development Scheme from the year 2020-21 Campa, the forest department officials informed that 70 drains of Korea Forest Board will be treated at a cost of Rs 15 crore 83 lakh. Similarly, Rs 14 crore 34 lakh for 69 drains of Kawardha forest, Rs 6 crore 10 lakh for 61 drains of Surajpur forest division, Rs 10 crore 31 lakh for 60 drains of Balrampur forest division, Rs 7 crore for 58 drains of Manendragarh forest board. At a cost of Rs. 4 crore 10 lakh to 42 drains of GGSNP (Surguja), Rs. 7 crore 37 lakh to 42 drains of Jashpur forest division, similarly 42 drains in Mahasamund forest division cost Rs. 7 crore 77 lakh. Out of this, 47 drains of Balodabazar forest division will be treated with Rs 9 crore 82 lakh, 37 drains of Gariaband forest division Rs 5 crore 40 lakh, 10 drains of Udanti Sintadi Tiger Reserve will be treated with an amount of Rs 1 crore 76 lakh.
Under Narva Development Scheme, 13 drains of Dhamtari Forest Board Rs. 1 crore 38 lakh, 16 drains of Khairagarh Forest Board Rs. 2 crore 5 lakh, 17 drains of Balod Forest Circle Rs. 3 crore 70 lakh, 29 drains of Rajnandgaon Forest Board. 6 crore 97 lakh rupees, 29 drains of Sarguja Forest Board Rs. 3 crore 67 lakh rupees, 2 drains of Tamorpingla Reserve Rs. 26 lakh, 21 drains of Raigad forest board Rs. 3 crore 23 lakh, 14 drains of Dharamjaigarh forest division. 4 crore 50 lakh will be treated. Similarly, 2 drains of Janjgir-Champa Rs. 2 crore 11 lakhs, 8 drains of Bilaspur forest division Rs. 1 crore 90 lakhs, Rs. 28 million rupees to 28 drains of Achanakmar Tiger Reserve and Rs. 7 crores to 14 drains of Mungeli forest division. 96 lakh to be treated at a cost of Rs.
Under this scheme, 22 drains of Korba Forest Board got Rs 6 crore 50 lakh, 22 drains of Katghora Forest Circle Rs 3 crore 39 lakh, 6 drains of Bastar Forest Circle Rs 1 crore 74 lakh, 14 drains of Dantewada Forest Board 2 74 million rupees, 10 drains of Sukma Forest Board Rs. 2 crore 50 lakhs, 16 drains of Bijapur Forest Circle Rs. 5 crore 32 lakhs, 58 drains of Indravati Tiger Reserve Rs. 8 crore 35 lakhs, Kanger Valley National Park 11 drains 1 crore 50 lakhs, 28 nalas of South Kondagaon, 3 crore 16 lakh rupees, 24 drains of Narayanpur forest division, 10 crore 72 lakh rupees, 48 drains of Bhanupratappur East forest division, 9 crore 38 lakh rupees, Pashthan Bhanupratappur forest division 28 drains will be treated at a cost of Rs. 5 crore 49 lakhs, 22 drains of Keshkal forest board at Rs. 4 crore 10 lakhs, 38 drains of Kanker forest division at a cost of Rs. 7 crore 50 lakhs.
