Under the state government’s ambitious scheme “Narwa Development Program”, the treatment of Bhumka Nala under Dahikonga range of South Kondagaon forest division has improved the ground water level of Vananchal. There, Narva treatment work is being done by selecting the Bhumka drain located in the forest area in the Annual Action Plan 2021-22 of the Campa item in Dahikonga sub-region. The direct benefits of the planned works done for the revival of Bhumka Nala by Village Joba and Forest Management Committee are now being seen. Under the Narva Vikas Yojna, 12 thousand 23 structures are being constructed in Bhumka Nala at a cost of Rs. 1 crore 44 lakh 78 thousand, due to which water available in the structures built in the nalas will be used for irrigation along with groundwater enrichment of the nala. is being used in
Joba Ghodgaon of Dahikonga sub-zone in Dahikonga zone, most of the parts of Bade Kanera fall in Mari area, where the villagers have to face a lot of water problem in their daily life during summer season. With the construction of the stop dam, the problems of water and sewerage etc. have been solved for the villagers of Joba village. Ground water level has also improved due to the treatment works in Bhumka Nala, whose direct evidence can be seen from the increased water level in the drains and wells there.
Benefits of the scheme – Stop dam in Bhumka Nala in this episode –01 (19 m length 1.74 m height) has been constructed at a cost of Rs 16 lakh. In the present situation, the water filling area of Stop Dam-01 is 15000 cubic meters of water stored in an area of 475 meters in average height of 1.74 meters. Taking advantage of this, farmers Mr. Subaru Ram and Mr. Ghasia Ram are cultivating 3.5 hectares near Stop Dam. Earlier, he used to cultivate maize only during the rainy season, now after the construction of the stop dam, after the Kharif crop, he is taking Rabi crop as well as vegetable crops.
They are doing the work of additional economic earning from vegetable farming and the farmers, Subaru Ram and Siya Ram are becoming an inspiration for other farmers in their area. Apart from this, Mr. Subaru Ram has also constructed two big ponds in his farm, in which he is rearing fish by adding 35 kg of fish seed. When the amount of water in the pond decreases, it is replenishing it by taking water from the stop dam.
