As soon as the thought of a flower comes to mind, its fragrance fills the mind. But if you start getting money from its smell, then understand that life itself starts smelling. Village Malidih is a small village under Mahasamund. The farmer here Mr. Arun Chandrakar is a traditional farmer, but a few years ago thought of doing something different experimentally and tried his hand towards flower farming. Started rose cultivation after taking guidance from the officers of Horticulture Department. Initially planted rose plants in an area of ​​400×400 square meters. For this, the benefit of the poly house scheme was also taken from the Horticulture Department. His son Amar Chandrakar is also taking forward his father’s work and taking necessary guidance and training to take this farming forward by giving it a commercial form.

Also took advantage of the construction of pack house under the National Agriculture Development Scheme run by the Department of Horticulture. Also kept taking technical guidance from time to time. Looking at the income in flowers, young farmer Amar Chandrakar started cultivation of strawberry flowers in 2020-21 at two places of one acre area each. Today, he is saving about one lakh rupees per month by cultivating Zharbera. He told that there is a plan to cultivate flowers in an area of ​​about 6 acres. Today 35 laborers are working in his poly house. Who do the work of harvesting and giving medicines every day. He told that his flowers are being sold at a rate ranging from Rs 2.5 to Rs 17 per piece in cities like Raipur, Mumbai, Nagpur, Kolkata, Bengaluru etc. He told that now Sevanti flower has been planted in one area, the production of which will start from the month of November. Although Mr. Amar Chandrakar is a Bachelor of Engineering, But giving up the attachment of job, they are considering this farming for profit as a job. Along with this, they are also helping in social work. He said that I am satisfied by living in the village, serving the village and cultivating flowers. He has also thanked the state government for this opportunity.
