Bus transport is streamlined and made convenient for the passengers
On the initiative of Urban Administration and Development Department, Shri Balaji Swami Trust Shri Dudhadhari Math Inter-State Bus Terminal has been constructed on 25 acres of land in Bhathagaon to make public bus transport in Raipur city well organized and accessible to the commuters. 104 rooms have been constructed in the four-storey building of this grand complex built at a cost of about Rs 49 crore, in which office rooms, shops, transport offices, food courts, passenger waiting rooms, food stalls, women and men dormitories will be operated. Separate toilet facilities have been arranged in this complex for both male and female as well as third gender passengers. In this bus stand, the bus operators and businessmen of Pandri Bus Stand have been made accessible. There are 14 bus-ways built in this bus terminal, In which space is earmarked for 14 buses simultaneously. Five high speed lifts have been installed for the convenience of the passengers for commuting to different floors. There is a modern fire fighting system, CCTV. There is a provision for cameras, separate barracks for police force, public announcement system.
Inter-state and long distance and short distance buses and city buses will be operated from the well-equipped inter-state bus stand. In the present odd circumstances of Corona, the movement of only 200 buses will continue daily, but on normal days, about 900 buses will operate daily from this premises. A one-way route is prescribed for the arrival and departure of buses. Under this, arrangements have been made for the arrival of buses by constructing a new road near the water treatment plant, the buses will be released from Bhathagaon Chowk road. Space is available for repair workshop etc. in the bus stand premises. Here the backwater of Bhatagaon’s filter plant will be used for washing vehicles to prevent wastage of water. Plantation has also been done here by Raipur Smart City Limited by marking the place for environmental protection.
More than 600 vehicles will be parked in multilevel parking
To streamline the parking system in Raipur, the city’s second multi-level parking has been built near the collectorate complex, which has a parking arrangement of 450 four wheelers and 150-200 two wheelers. This multi-storey complex, constructed at a cost of Rs.28 crore, is the best example of modern city planning by making proper use of minimum area in helical (spring-shaped) shape in an area of 17792 square meters.
Situated between Raipur’s historic heritage collectorate complex, town hall and newly constructed Oxizone Garden and Smart Road, this complex will give a new identity to the city with its usefulness. A financial model has also been prepared for the operation of this complex, under which the urban body will get revenue of about Rs 83.55 lakh in the next 5 years. With the commencement of this multi-storey parking complex, the citizens arriving by their vehicle in the collector’s office, district court, superintendent of police office and many other government departments will be able to get the parking facility.
The restaurant will operate in the upper floor of this six-storey building, from where the grandeur of the city will be visible. From the top floor of this complex, the dome of Oxizone Farm, Nagar Clock Chowk, Municipal Headquarters, Baron’s Bazaar, St. Paul’s Church, Raja Talab Mosque are also visible. This work plan was completed by Raipur Smart City Limited in a short span of 26 months despite the odd circumstances of the Corona period. The complex will be known as “Light House” for its traffic management with modern construction skills.
Initiative will be taken to make Kharun river water pollution free from sewage treatment plant
To keep the water of Kharun, the life-giving river of Raipur pollution-free, 6 MLD by Municipal Corporation, Raipur, for the purification of the polluted water flowing in the drain flowing near Anicut located in Bhathagaon. Sewage treatment plant has been constructed. This is a big step to save Kharun river from pollution. With the construction of the plant, now the contaminated water flowing in the drain will flow into the river after being treated. Every day 60 lakh liters of dirty water will be treated through the treatment plant. With the operation of this plant, there will be a qualitative improvement in the bio-ecosystem of the river and its balance will be maintained. Water testing laboratory has been set up in the plant premises for intensive testing of water quality, which includes Chemical Oxygen Demand, Biological Oxygen Demand, Total Suspended Solids, pH. There are facilities for important tests like value, fiscal coliform. In addition to this plant, 200 MLD at a cost of Rs. 261 crore under AMRUT Mission Scheme. Shaheed Memorial Government English Medium School, Fafadih Chowk
