Shree Cement will buy 10 metric tons of cow dung daily to promote green energy

Cow dung will be used as additional fuel resources

Raipur , 21 March 2023

In the presence of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, an MoU was signed between Shree Cement Industry and District Administration Balodabazar-Bhatapara in his office room located in the assembly premises here today.

Consent has been given to purchase cow dung by Shree Cement Industry established in Simga development block of Balodabazar-Bhatapara district. Shree Cement will buy 10 metric tonnes of cow dung daily to promote green energy instead of coal. As an additional fuel resource, cow dung will be used along with coal to heat the furnace. On this occasion, Advisor to Chief Minister Mr. Pradeep Sharma , Collector Balodabazar-Bhatapara Mr. Rajat Bansal and Mr. Ravi Tiwari of Shree Cement were also present.

Officials told that cow dung will be collected from other places in Chandi, the village nearest to Shree Cement and given to the companies. Supply of cow dung 10 metric tonnes of cow dung will be supplied daily from 16 villages within 15 kilometer radius of the cement industry . So far 38.8 metric tonnes of cow dung has been supplied to the company.

In Balodabazar-Bhatapara district , there are 07 cowsheds , in which 1739 animals are kept , out of which 04 are located in Simga development block, which is at a distance of 20-25There is a possibility of supplying 6 metric tonnes of cow dung per day from cow shelters . There are about 95 villages near the industries in the district , in which the number of animals is about 80 thousand.

It is worth noting that influenced by the Chhattisgarh government’s cow dung justice scheme, new innovations in the use of cow dung are coming to the fore. Along with making vermicompost ,In this series, Sricement industry of Balodabazar-Bhatapara district has decided to use cow dung as an additional fuel resource.
