Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade today inaugurated the Weight Festival 2024 from Anganwadi Center Birpur in Surajpur district. The Weight Festival Rath was flagged off from Anganwadi Center Birpur of Sector Parvatipur of Women and Child Development Project Silfili. Under the National Nutrition Month, the Weight Festival program is run from 12 to 23 September, which was started today in every Anganwadi center of the state.

On the occasion of the launch of the Weight Festival program at Birpur Anganwadi Center in Surajpur district, Minister Smt. Rajwade said that mothers should pay special attention to the health of children. Feed them a balanced and nutritious diet, so that their health is good and weight is balanced. During this, Minister Smt. Rajwade also planted trees under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign. She also inquired about the activities of National Nutrition Month 2024. She inquired about the anemia test of school girls and also got her own health checked.
It is worth noting that under the National Nutrition Month, the Weight Festival program has been launched in the state today. This program is to be organized from 12 to 23 September 2024, in which the weight and height of children below zero to 06 years will be checked and the condition of malnutrition will be detected by identifying underweight children. During this, their level of malnutrition will also be checked. The objective of the Weight Festival is to assess the nutrition level of children below 6 years of age and make them 100 percent well-nourished.
