Chhattisgarh’s Agriculture Development and Tribal Welfare Minister Shri Ram Vichar Netam today paid a courtesy call on Union Agriculture and Tribal Affairs Minister Shri Arjun Munda during his stay in Delhi.
Concerned about the future of the farmers of Chhattisgarh, Agriculture Minister Shri Netam discussed in detail the technical aspects with Union Minister Shri Arjun Munda to double their income. There was also discussion on making farmers aware about small grain crops other than paddy in the state. On this occasion, the ministers also discussed in detail the possibilities of maize crops for producing ethanol in Chhattisgarh.
Under the leadership of Agriculture Minister Shri Netam, a team of officers also discussed with Union Minister Shri Arjun Munda and officials regarding increasing the income of farmers. On this occasion, proposals worth Rs 1100 crore for drone system, community forestry, small units for small scale industries and mechanization were submitted to the Union Minister. While giving in-principle consent to these proposals, the Union Minister assured that all the proposals of Chhattisgarh are agreed upon and instructions will be given to approve them as soon as possible. With the acceptance of these proposals, maize crops will get a boost in the state. There is a possibility of increasing the area of maize by 50,000 hectares every year, this will enable the cultivation of about 1,45,000 hectares of millet every year. During the meeting, PM Pranam Yojana and promotion of nano fertiliser, mechanization were also discussed.
During this, Minister Shri Netam told Union Minister Shri Arjun Munda that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, it is working with commitment for the progress of farmers. Our government is working to fulfill the promises made by the illustrious Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to the people of the state. He said that our government has purchased 145 lakh metric tonnes of paddy from farmers at the rate of 21 quintals per acre in the marketing year 2023-24. Apart from the support price, the difference amount will soon be provided to the farmers as per Modi’s guarantee. He said that the government led by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai has done remarkable work by giving approval to provide Prime Minister Rural Housing to 18 lakh families of the state as soon as it came to power
