Raipur, 08 February 2022. School Education Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam inaugurated the country’s first AICTE Idea Lab in Chhattisgarh today. Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Professional Management and Technology College, Raipur is the first college in the country, where the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) Idea Lab has been started today. With the establishment of this lab, excellent facilities will be available to the students for research and innovation. It is noteworthy that AICTE has selected Shankaracharya College, Raipur to set up the Idea Lab. Many engineering colleges from all over the country had applied, in which 49 colleges were selected. One of these is also Shankaracharya Engineering College, Raipur.
Minister Dr. Tekam said that the selection of Shree Shankaracharya Institute of Professional Management and Technology College of Chhattisgarh state for the idea lab by AICTE is a matter of pride not for this college but for the entire state. Students can make their future bright by using it properly. He said that the Idea Lab has been established with the objective of making the students understand and apply the basic principles of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics to gain practical experience. This idea lab will play an important role in giving shape to the imagination and thinking of the students studying in technical institutions. This lab can be used by the students as well as the general public. Minister Dr. Tekam said that the youth starting a new venture will be able to take full advantage of it. If any student has any technical idea, then they can come to this lab and make their dream come true and they can patent their idea. The products designed by him can be developed here. This will be a big step in the field of self-employment. Minister Dr. Tekam expressed confidence that the students of remote areas would also be able to make use of the resourceful laboratory and developed facilities, so that they could play their important role in all round development. He said that it would be the responsibility of Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Professional Management and Technology to identify the students and provide them lab facilities. It is noteworthy that under the Idea Lab scheme, grants are given in selected institutions of the country. Through which the institutes procure state-of-the-art equipment. This does not cause any difficulty in the training of the students. Idea Lab helps students to develop innovation and startup ideas. Under the National Education Policy-2020, this scheme has been designed keeping the idea development, evaluation and applications at the center. This will develop skills like Imagination, Creativity, Critical Thinking, Design Thinking, Problem Solving and Collaboration in the students. This lab will be open for seven days and 24 hours.
The program was coordinated by the Advisor Institutional Development Cell AICTE, Chairman of the college, Shri I.P. Mishra, Secretary Shri Nishant Tripathi also addressed. On this occasion Principal Shri Alok Jain, Prof. Atul Chakraborty, Dr. J.P. Patra, Mr. Pankaj Yadav and members of the entire team that made up the Idea Lab were present.
